About Maitri International

Maitri International is a Navi Mumbai-based agro-commodity trading company and a subsidiary of Lalji Hirji & Sons, a business with a legacy dating back to 1933.

We are looking for a Senior Accounts Manager to take ownership of our international accounting and finance operations, while leading a team of 4–5 people.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Manage and review international Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general ledger accounting.

Handle African accounts and overseas financial operations.

Manage foreign currency transactions, forex gains/losses and exchange-rate differences.

Handle and coordinate international banking transactions, remittances, LC and SWIFT-related transactions.

Manage accounting for imports and international trading transactions, including freight, clearing and other associated costs.

Conduct and review bank, ledger, supplier and customer reconciliations.

Monitor receivables, payables and outstanding balances.

Prepare MIS and financial reports for management.

Coordinate with banks, auditors, overseas teams, suppliers and customers.

Lead, review and guide a team of 4–5 accounts professionals.





Take ownership of accounting issues and ensure timely resolution and closure.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.

Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.

Practical experience with international / overseas accounts.

Experience in African accounting or finance operations is preferred. Candidates with solid international accounting experience and a genuine interest in working with African operations will also be considered.

Strong knowledge of AP, AR, bank reconciliation and ledger scrutiny.

Practical understanding of foreign currency accounting and forex gains/losses.

Experience with international banking and import/trading-related accounting.

Ability to independently manage accounting matters and supervise a team.

Strong attention to detail, communication and follow-up skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who understands accounting beyond simply passing entries, can independently analyse and reconcile international transactions, and is comfortable taking ownership of the finance function.
