Job Summary Shearwater Health is seeking experienced SDS Coders with strong expertise in Same Day Surgery coding. The ideal candidate must possess an active CCS certification and hands-on experience in coding outpatient surgical encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines while ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities





- Review and analyze outpatient Same Day Surgery medical records.
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.
- Ensure coding compliance with CMS, NCCI edits, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Maintain coding accuracy and productivity targets.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate queries when required.
- Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated with coding guideline changes and payer regulations.

Required Qualifications

- Active CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 1+ years of SDS/Outpatient Surgery coding experience.

- Solid knowledge of
- ICD-10-CM

- CPT

- HCPCS Level II

- Medical Terminology
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria

- CCS certification only.
- SDS/Outpatient Surgery coding experience mandatory.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work in US shifts.
