About Biodimension

We are a Bengaluru-based New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) company building biofabricated human reconstructed tissue models and patient-derived organoids as alternatives to animal testing. We work with pharma, cosmetic and chemical industry clients on efficacy, safety and claim-substantiation studies for research use.

The role

We are looking for a Scientist who can own client projects end to end: understand the client's question, design the study, execute it at the bench, and deliver the report and discussion back to the client. This is a hands-on laboratory role with direct client interaction. You will be the scientific point of contact for your projects.

Key responsibilities

- Lead client-sponsored studies from enquiry to final report: scoping calls, study design, protocol and study plan preparation, execution, data analysis, and reporting.
- Act as the primary scientific contact for clients: present study designs, give progress updates, discuss results, and handle technical queries and revisions.
- Work with the BD and proposal teams on feasibility assessment, technical inputs for quotations, timelines and resource estimates.
- Isolate, culture and characterise primary human and animal cells; maintain cell lines; support work on reconstructed tissue models and organoids.
- Perform and troubleshoot molecular and analytical assays: qPCR / gene expression, western blot, ELISA, HPLC, viability and cytotoxicity assays,



and histology/immunostaining as required.
- Develop, optimise and qualify custom assays and methods to meet client-specific requirements.
- Analyse data with appropriate statistics and prepare explicit, defensible study reports and client presentations.
- Maintain documentation under our QMS: SOPs, lab notebooks, raw data records, deviations and study files, ready for audit.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel against agreed timelines and budgets; flag risks early, internally and to the client.
- Guide and train junior scientists, research associates and interns working on your projects.

Required qualifications and experience

- M.Sc. / M.Tech / Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial experience, with a demonstrated record of handling client-based / sponsored projects.
- Strong hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture, especially primary cells (isolation, expansion, characterisation, cryopreservation).
- Proven proficiency in qPCR, western blot and HPLC, including troubleshooting and data interpretation.
- Experience in study design, protocol writing and scientific report writing for external clients.




- Clear written and spoken English; comfortable presenting data and leading technical discussions with client scientists and management.
- Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, GLP or NABL/ISO 17025 environments).

Preferred

- Exposure to OECD-aligned in vitro studies (e.g. TG 439, TG 431, TG 428, TG 492 or similar), including working to test guideline acceptance criteria, controls and proficiency requirements.
- Experience generating study plans and final reports as per OECD requirements: test guideline reporting elements, raw data traceability, deviations and amendments, and GLP-style report structure.
- HPLC method development and validation (specificity, linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD/LOQ) for quantification in biological matrices such as culture media, tissue extracts or receptor fluid.
- Experience with 3D culture systems: reconstructed tissues, organoids, spheroids or co-culture models.
- Exposure to in vitro toxicology or dermatology/cosmetic efficacy and claim-substantiation testing.
- ELISA/multiplex cytokine analysis, flow cytometry, histology and imaging.
