Client Job Title: SAP Technical Business Analyst

Role Summary

We are seeking a SAP Technical Business Analyst with deep S/4HANA supply chain expertise and a minimum of 7 years' experience to act as the bridge between SAP/ERP teams and Data & Analytics teams. The ideal candidate understands S/4HANA core data structures and CDS/VDM patterns, can translate business requirements into technical specifications, and ensures accuracy of data flows from SAP into downstream reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

- Work with business stakeholders (supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, logistics) to elicit and document functional requirements and acceptance criteria.

- Translate functional requirements and SAP business logic into clear technical specifications for ERP and Data & Analytics teams.

- Design and validate data models and mappings from S/4HANA source tables (e.g., EKKO/EKPO, MARA/MARC, MATDOC, AUFK/AFKO, MDPS/MDEZ) to downstream reporting schemas.

- Develop and maintain SAP CDS Views and advise on VDM layering (Basic → Composite/Cube → Consumption) to support analytics and reporting needs.

- Lead data validation activities to ensure reconciliation and accuracy between SAP source data and downstream outputs (reports, data lake, BI layers).

- Support UAT cycles: prepare test cases, coordinate end users, manage defects and ensure successful sign-off.





- Collaborate with SAP functional/configuration teams, ABAP developers (where needed), and D&A; engineers (Azure/Databricks/ETL) to deliver solutions.

- Produce and maintain clear documentation (requirements, technical specs, data lineage, test cases) and present status to stakeholders.

- Drive continuous improvement for data quality, reporting completeness, and integration patterns between ERP and analytics platforms.

Requirements

- Having at least 6+ years of strong functional/technical knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, especially Supply Chain modules (MM, PP, SD, WM/EWM)

- Solid understanding of S/4HANA core data structures (e.g., EKKO/EKPO, MARA/MARC, MATDOC, AUFK/AFKO, MDPS/MDEZ) and how they feed downstream reporting/analytics

- Experience with SAP CDS Views and Virtual Data Model (VDM) layering (Basic → Composite/Cube → Consumption)

- Proven technical BA skills — able to translate SAP business logic and functional requirements into technical specs, bridging the SAP/IT ERP team and the IT D&A;/Business Data teams

- Supply Chain experience is a must

- Experience with data validation, ensuring accuracy between SAP source systems and downstream outputs

- Familiarity with Azure/Databricks is a plus, but the core priority for this role is deep SAP S/4HANA + BA expertise

- Experience supporting UAT cycles, with robust documentation and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

- Familiarity with Azure data platform and Databricks or similar data lake/processing technologies.

- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) or Azure Synapse for analytics consumption.

- Exposure to ABAP or experience working closely with ABAP developers for extraction/transform tasks.

- SAP S/4HANA certification or supply chain functional certifications.

- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and SAP Activate framework.
