Purpose of Position:

The SAP SCM Lead serves as the primary functional focal point across Procurement, Material Management, and Supply Chain processes within the Group-wide SAP S/4HANA environment.

The role ensures stable operational processes, supports continuous improvement, leads solution design, and enables best-practice process adoption across all operating companies.

This position serves as the primary functional authority for supply chain-related modules and works closely with business stakeholders, SAP partners, and internal CoE teams to ensure efficient and reliable SAP-enabled business processes.

The role also provides leadership, mentoring and functional direction to Associate Consultants and contributes to the long-term enhancement and standardization of SAP SCM processes across the Group.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

SAP Functional Ownership

1. Lead functional ownership of SAP SCM modules, including MM and Ariba, across the SAP S/4HANA Group instance.
2. Manage solution design and ensure alignment to SAP best practices and business process standards.
3. Lead Fit-to-Standard, solution design, configuration review, and functional specification development.

Operational Excellence & Support

1. Ensure stable system operations, manage L2/L3 incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve cross-functional issues.
2. Oversee the associate’s daily support work, ensuring timely resolution of operational tickets and adherence to CoE processes.
3. Monitor integration touchpoints with FICO, Ariba, project and operations to maintain data and process consistency.

Enhancements, Change Management, and Optimization

1. Identify and lead enhancement initiatives across SCM to improve performance, usability, and compliance.
2. Develop functional specifications, coordinate with technical teams (ABAP, BTP, Integration), and validate delivered solutions.
3. Lead the testing lifecycle (SIT/UAT/Regression), including developing test scripts, validating results, and ensuring quality assurance.

Business Engagement & Governance

1. Collaborate with business owners (Supply Chain) to analyse pain points and improvement opportunities.
2. Define and maintain process documentation, SOPs, functional specifications, solution documentation, and training materials.
3. Ensure compliance with audit requirements, internal controls, change management processes, and system governance.

Reporting & Analytics Alignment

1. Work closely with the SAP Analytics & Reporting Consultant to support operational dashboards, KPIs, and reporting for operations functions.

Validate data accuracy for SCM KPIs across SAP modules.

Leadership & CoE Development

1. Guide and mentor the Associate Consultants assigned to SCM modules.
2. Contribute to SAP roadmap discussions and future CoE capability development.
3. Represent the SCM domain in Group SAP governance forums (SteerCo, Change Advisory Board, Design Authority, etc.)

Principal Challenges:

1. Managing SCM process standardization and cross-functional integrations within a single SAP S/4HANA instance serving multiple companies across the Group.
2. Balancing heavy SCM support with enhancement demands and strategic improvement initiatives.
3. Standardizing processes across operating companies with varying maturity levels.
4. Ensuring strong change control and avoiding disruption to mission-critical operations.
5. Managing cross-functional dependencies and ensuring alignment between technical and functional teams.

Minimum Academic & Professional Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or an equivalent field.
2. SAP S/4HANA certification in SCM, MM, or Ariba is required (multiple certifications are advantageous).
3. Proven experience with SAP Activate methodology, including fit-to-standard analysis, testing cycles, and deployment phases, is required
4. Strong understanding of SCM process cycles in multi-industries.
5. Additional certifications or training in process architecture, solution governance, or procurement transformation are advantageous.

Minimum Work Experience:

1. 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience delivering and supporting SAP SCM/Ariba modules.
2. Proven experience leading solution design, configuration oversight, testing, and deployment in at least two full-cycle SAP implementations or major rollout projects (S/4HANA preferred).
3. Strong track record in stabilizing operations, resolving cross-module issues, and improving system performance.
4. Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders and managing functional expectations.
5. Prior experience guiding junior consultants or support analysts is strongly preferred.
6. Exposure to SAP BTP integrations, Fiori applications,



digital procurement solutions, and SAP Business Network integrations is a plus.

Skills & Competencies Required: · Technical & Functional Skills

1. Deep functional expertise in SAP SCM modules, including MM and Ariba, with proven configuration and solution design knowledge.
2. Strong understanding of cross-functional processes (MM, FICO, Procurement, Inventory Management, Ariba, and SCM).
3. Proficiency in defining functional specifications, validating technical development, and coordinating with technical teams.
4. Strong understanding of S/4HANA master data (materials, vendors, purchasing info records, source lists, service master data, and business partners).
5. Experience in troubleshooting performance, integration, and data integrity issues.
6. Familiarity with process automation, workflow, and enhancement frameworks.
7. Knowledge of SAP role/authorization framework for operational areas.

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per month
