Purpose of Position:

The SAP Project & Operations Lead serves as the primary functional focal point across Project System (PS), Plant Maintenance (PM), Production Planning (PP), and Quality Management (QM) within the Group-wide SAP S/4HANA environment The role ensures stable operational processes, supports continuous improvement, leads solution design, and enables best-practice process adoption across all operating companies.

This position serves as the primary functional authority for operations-related modules and works closely with business stakeholders, SAP partners, and internal CoE teams to ensure efficient and reliable SAP-enabled business processes.

The role also provides leadership, mentoring and functional direction to Associate Consultants and contributes to the long-term enhancement and standardization of SAP operations processes across the Group.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

SAP Functional Ownership

- Lead functional ownership of PM, PS, PP, and QM modules across the SAP S/4HANA Group instance.
- Manage solution architecture and ensure alignment to SAP best practices and business process standards.
- Lead Fit-to-Standard, solution design, configuration review, and functional specification development.

Operational Excellence & Support

- Ensure stable system operations, manage L2/L3 incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve cross-functional issues.
- Oversee the associate’s daily support work, ensuring timely resolution of operational tickets and adherence to CoE processes.
- Monitor integration touchpoints with MM, FICO, HR, Procurement, EHS, and SCM to maintain data and process consistency.

Enhancements, Change Management, and Optimization

- Identify and lead enhancement initiatives across PM, PS, PP, and QM to improve performance, usability, and compliance.
- Develop functional specifications, coordinate with technical teams (ABAP, BTP, Integration), and validate delivered solutions.
- Lead the testing lifecycle (SIT/UAT), including developing test scripts, validating results, and ensuring quality assurance.

Business Engagement & Governance

- Collaborate with business owners (Operations, Engineering, Projects, Manufacturing, HSE, QA) to analyse pain points and improvement opportunities.
- Define and maintain process documentation, SOPs, functional specifications, solution documentation, and training materials.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, internal controls, change management processes, and system governance.

Reporting & Analytics Alignment





- Work closely with the SAP Analytics & Reporting Consultant to support operational dashboards, KPIs, and reporting for operations functions.
- Validate data accuracy for operational KPIs across PP, PM, PS, and QM.

Leadership & CoE Development

- Guide and mentor the Associate Consultants assigned to operations modules.
- Contribute to SAP roadmap discussions and future CoE capability development.
- Represent the operations domain in Group SAP governance forums (SteerCo, Change Advisory Board, etc.)

Principal Challenges:

- Managing complex integration across PM, PS, PP, and QM within a single SAP instance used by multiple companies across the group.
- Balancing heavy operational support with enhancement demands and strategic improvement initiatives.
- Standardizing processes across operating companies with varying maturity levels.
- Ensuring strong change control and avoiding disruption to mission-critical operations.
- Managing cross-functional dependencies and ensuring alignment between technical and functional teams.

Minimum Academic & Professional Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or an equivalent field.
- SAP S/4HANA certification in PM, PP, or PS is required (multiple certifications are advantageous).
- Proven experience with SAP Activate methodology, including fit-to-standard analysis, testing cycles, and deployment phases, is required
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, maintenance, project management, and quality process cycles.
- Additional certifications or learning in process architecture, or solution governance is an advantage

Minimum Work Experience:

- 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience delivering and supporting SAP PM, PS, PP, and QM modules.
- Proven experience leading solution design, configuration oversight, testing, and deployment in at least two full-cycle SAP implementations or major rollout projects (S/4HANA preferred).
- Strong track record in stabilizing operations, resolving cross-module issues, and improving system performance.
- Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders and managing functional expectations.




- Prior experience guiding junior consultants or support analysts is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to SAP BTP integrations, Fiori apps, digital maintenance, and manufacturing execution systems is a plus.

Skills & Competencies Required:

- Deep functional expertise in PM, PS, PP, and QM with proven configuration and solution design knowledge.
- Strong understanding of cross-functional processes (MM, FICO, HR, Procurement, and SCM).
- Proficiency in defining functional specifications, validating technical development, and coordinating with technical teams.
- Strong understanding of S/4HANA master data (materials, equipment, BOM, routing, WBS, work centers).
- Experience in troubleshooting performance, integration, and data integrity issues.
- Familiarity with process automation, workflow, and enhancement frameworks.
- Knowledge of SAP role/authorization framework for operational areas.

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per month
