## Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP Finance Technical / Functional Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Finance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SAP FI/CO business processes along with technical expertise in ABAP, SAP tables, CDS Views, extractors, and S/4HANA data models.

The consultant will act as a bridge between SAP Finance, technical teams, Data Engineering, and BI/Analytics teams, translating SAP business logic into accurate data mappings, transformation requirements, and reconciliation processes for analytical platforms.

## Key Responsibilities

- Act as an SAP Finance SME across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of FI/CO processes, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Cost Center Accounting
- Profit Center Accounting
- Asset Accounting
- Product Costing
- Financial Closing Processes
- Understand S/4HANA Finance architecture, including:
- Universal Journal / ACDOCA
- Business Partner
- Material Ledger
- CDS Views
- S/4HANA data-model simplifications
- Analyze and debug ABAP programs, custom Z programs, function modules, BAdIs, user exits, CDS Views, and SAP reports to understand underlying business logic.
- Identify SAP source tables, fields, joins, filters, calculations, derivations, and aggregation logic used in Finance reports and transactions.




- Translate SAP functional and technical logic into clear source-to-target mappings and transformation specifications for Data Engineering and Analytics teams.
- Analyze and troubleshoot SAP extractors, CDS-based extraction, ODP, SLT replication, and custom data interfaces.
- Validate data movement between SAP and downstream analytical platforms.
- Perform technical reconciliation covering:
- Document-level data
- Financial amounts
- Account balances
- Record counts
- Currency conversions
- Master-data dependencies
- Delta logic
- Reporting results
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between SAP transactional reports and downstream analytical systems.
- Support Unit Testing, System/Integration Testing, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Validation.
- Work closely with Finance, SAP, Data Engineering, and BI teams to ensure analytical solutions accurately reproduce SAP business logic.
- Document data lineage, transformation rules, technical specifications, and reconciliation logic.

## Required Skills & Experience

- 5 years of relevant SAP Finance experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO.
- Strong experience working with both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA Finance.
- Deep understanding of S/4HANA Universal Journal / ACDOCA.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and debug ABAP code.
- Experience with:

- ODP
- Custom Z Programs
- BAdIs / User Exits
- Function Modules
- Strong understanding of source-to-target mapping, data lineage, transformation logic,



and reconciliation.
- Ability to trace SAP reports and transactions to underlying technical logic and source data.
- Experience troubleshooting discrepancies between SAP and downstream data/analytics platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to translate complex SAP Finance requirements into clear technical specifications for Data Engineering and BI teams.

## Positive to Have

- Experience with Databricks / Delta Lake.
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Experience with SAP BW Extractors, SLT, ODP, or CDS-based extraction.
- Experience supporting ECC-to-S/4HANA migration or modernization projects.
- Exposure to Power BI or other enterprise BI/Analytics platforms.
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling.
- Knowledge of modern cloud data architecture.
- Experience working with financial data warehouses or analytical products.
