POSITION: SAP BASIS CONSULTANT

EXPERIENCE: 5 - 8 YEARS

LOCATION: COIMBATORE/ CHENNAI

:

- Administer and maintain SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, GRC, Fiori, PI/PO), ensuring high system availability, stability, and performance.

- Plan and execute SAP installations, upgrades, support package implementations, and kernel patches using tools like SWPM, SUM, and DMO.

- Manage and tune SAP HANA and other DB platforms (Oracle, DB2, Sybase), performing backups, restores, and memory optimization activities.

- Configure and manage SAP Router, Web Dispatcher, and network security policies to ensure secure communication between internal and external systems.

- Execute and document OS/DB migrations, Unicode conversions, and landscape transformations as part of modernization or consolidation projects.

- Monitor and analyze system logs (SM21), dumps (ST22), job logs (SM37), and performance metrics (ST03N, ST06) to proactively identify and resolve issues.

- Develop and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies, including DR drills and integration with backup systems.

- Configure and manage SAP Fiori Launchpad, Gateway, and OData services, handling user interface issues and performance bottlenecks.

- Automate routine BASIS activities using scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and implement DevOps practices for efficiency.





- Integrate SAP with third-party systems using RFCs, IDocs, REST APIs, and manage interfacerelated issues across modules.
- Implement and maintain security controls, SSO (SAML, Kerberos), SSL certificates, and SAP logon ticketing infrastructure.
- Work closely with functional and development teams to deploy transports, implement OSS Notes, and perform root cause analysis (RCA).

- Administer SAP Solution Manager (7.2), configuring system monitoring, CHARM, LMDB, and diagnostics agents.

- Prepare detailed documentation including SOPs, architectural diagrams, process flows, and compliance reports (SOX, GDPR, ISO).
- Guide and mentor junior BASIS consultants and serve as a point of escalation for complex technical incidents.
- Coordinate with cloud infrastructure teams to manage SAP systems deployed on Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.

Desired Skills

- Strong proficiency in SAP NetWeaver (ABAP/Java), S/4HANA, HANA DB administration

- Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and SAP on-prem/cloud architectures

- Experience with transport management system (STMS) and client copy procedures.

Familiarity with monitoring tools: SAP Solution Manager, Dynatrace, Zabbix, or Splunk

- Understanding of change management and ITIL processes

- Solid communication skills for cross-team coordination and user support
