Job Summary

We are looking for skilled Painters / Blasters with experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, or heavy industrial projects. The candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, coating application, and finishing of vessel structures and equipment as per project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out abrasive blasting and surface preparation of vessel hulls, decks, tanks, machinery foundations, and steel structures.

- Operate blasting equipment, air compressors, spray painting equipment, and related tools safely.

- Perform surface preparation to the required surface cleanliness and profile standards.

- Apply primer, intermediate coats, antifouling, epoxy, polyurethane, and other marine coatings as specified.

- Follow approved Painting Procedure Specifications (PPS) and manufacturer recommendations.

- Ensure correct mixing and application of paints, thinners, and coatings as per technical data sheets.

- Maintain required DFT (Dry Film Thickness) and coating quality.

- Check environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and dew point before painting.

- Carry out touch-up, repair painting, stripe coating, and final finishing works.

- Identify surface defects such as rust, pinholes, runs, sags, blistering, and uneven coating and rectify them.





- Maintain proper housekeeping at the work location.

- Follow shipyard HSE requirements, including PPE, ventilation, confined-space procedures, and working-at-height safety.

- Coordinate with Supervisors, QC Inspectors, and other production teams to complete work within the project schedule.

- Maintain blasting and painting tools and equipment in good working condition.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of marine blasting and painting practices.

- Knowledge of abrasive blasting equipment and spray painting systems.

- Understanding of surface preparation grades and coating systems.

- Basic knowledge of DFT measurement and coating inspection.

- Ability to read and follow work instructions and coating specifications.

- Knowledge of PPE and safety procedures for blasting and painting.

- Ability to work in confined spaces, tanks, and elevated areas where required.

- Positive teamwork and discipline.

Educational Qualification

- ITI / Technical qualification preferred.

- Relevant trade certification in Painting / Blasting will be an advantage.

- Candidates with strong practical experience may also be considered.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
