About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Sales Merchant to manage buyer communication, product development, sampling, order coordination, and sales activities for our handicraft export business.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of handicraft products, home decor, textiles, furniture/accessories, Indian craftsmanship, export buyers, and international market trends.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Buyer Management

- Identify and develop new international buyers, importers, wholesalers, retailers, and sourcing companies.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing buyers and handle regular communication.
- Understand buyer requirements, product specifications, target prices, quantities, and delivery timelines.
- Follow up with buyers for enquiries, quotations, sampling, orders, and repeat business.
- Prepare and share product presentations, catalogues, quotations, and product details with buyers.
- Participate in buyer meetings, trade fairs, exhibitions, and business development activities.

Product & Merchandising
- Coordinate with the design and production teams for new product development.
- Understand buyer briefs and convert them into suitable product concepts.
- Coordinate sampling, modifications, approvals, and final product development.
- Track sample status and ensure timely submission to buyers.
- Stay updated on international trends in home decor, handicrafts, textiles, accessories, and lifestyle products.

Costing & Order Coordination
- Prepare product costing based on material, labour, production, packaging, and other relevant costs.
- Coordinate with production and sourcing teams to ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate prices and commercial terms with buyers as per company guidelines.




- Follow up on purchase orders and ensure smooth order execution.
- Coordinate with production, quality, packaging, and logistics teams to meet shipment timelines.

Export Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams for export order documentation and shipment requirements.
- Ensure product specifications, quantities, packaging, and quality requirements are followed.
- Track order progress from sampling to final shipment.
- Maintain proper records of buyer communication, enquiries, samples, orders, and shipments.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, Textile, Design, International Business, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in handicraft exports, home decor, lifestyle products, textiles, or related export businesses.
- Good understanding of Indian handicrafts and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of fabrics, materials, finishes, prints, embroidery, and other handicraft materials will be an advantage.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of international buyer requirements and product trends.
- Ability to work with buyers, designers, artisans, production teams, and vendors.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, email communication, and basic documentation.
- Robust follow-up, coordination, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel for buyer meetings, exhibitions, artisan visits, and vendor coordination when required.

Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in export houses, handicraft exporters, home furnishing companies, lifestyle brands, sourcing houses, or international buyer merchandising will be preferred.
