Job Summary

As an SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning Manager, you will lead the design, implementation, and delivery of SAP Analytics Cloud Planning solutions for enterprise clients. You will be responsible for translating complex business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting requirements into scalable SAC solutions.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in SAC Planning, SAC Analytics, data integration, planning models, business rules, data actions, allocations, and advanced scripting, along with the ability to lead consulting engagements and manage client stakeholders.

You will work closely with business leaders, finance teams, functional consultants, SAP technical teams, and data engineering teams to deliver end-to-end planning and analytics solutions. You will also be responsible for team leadership, solution governance, delivery quality, and mentoring consultants.

Key Responsibilities

SAC Planning & Solution Design

- Lead the design and implementation of SAP Analytics Cloud Planning solutions for budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, workforce planning, sales planning, and other enterprise planning use cases.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAC Planning solutions.
- Design planning models, dimensions, measures, versions, currencies, hierarchies, and data structures.
- Develop and manage SAC Planning Models, Stories, Applications, Data Actions, Multi Actions, Allocations, and Business Rules.
- Design planning processes covering data collection, input, validation, approvals, forecasting, simulation, and reporting.
- Configure and optimize planning versions, private/public versions, calendars, tasks, and workflow-related capabilities.
- Implement advanced planning scenarios using scripting and optimized/advanced stories where applicable.
- Ensure SAC solutions follow SAP and industry best practices for scalability, usability, performance, security, and maintainability.

SAC Analytics & Reporting

- Lead development of SAC Stories, dashboards, analytical applications, and executive reporting solutions.
- Design intuitive and business-friendly visualizations aligned with business requirements.
- Implement SAC analytical capabilities including drill-downs, filters, input controls, linked analysis, calculated measures, and cross-model reporting where applicable.
- Leverage SAC capabilities such as Smart Insights, Search to Insight/Just Ask, predictive and augmented analytics where relevant.




- Review and optimize existing SAC dashboards and reporting solutions for performance and user experience.

Data Integration & Architecture

- Design and oversee integration between SAC and SAP/non-SAP data sources.
- Work with SAP BW/BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) and other enterprise data platforms.
- Define appropriate Live, Import/Acquired, and planning data connectivity strategies based on business and technical requirements.
- Work with technical teams to resolve data integration, connectivity, data quality, and modeling issues.
- Contribute to overall SAP Data & Analytics architecture and recommend appropriate SAP technologies based on client requirements.

SAC Administration & Security

- Provide oversight for SAC tenant administration and governance.

Delivery & Project Management

- Own SAC Planning workstreams and ensure successful delivery within agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards.
- Lead solution design discussions, workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and client presentations.
- Review functional and technical designs and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Manage project risks, dependencies, issues, and delivery priorities for the SAC workstream.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Finance, FP&A;, SAP Functional, Data Engineering, BW/HANA, and Integration teams.
- Support estimation, solutioning, proposal development, and pre-sales activities.
- Review deliverables and ensure adherence to project methodologies, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
- Lead testing, defect resolution, deployment, cutover, hypercare, and production support activities.




- Drive knowledge transfer and ensure effective transition of solutions to support teams.

Team Leadership & People Management

- Lead and mentor a team of SAC consultants and senior consultants.
- Allocate resources across projects based on skills, priorities, and delivery requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and conduct design/code reviews.
- Develop team capability in SAC Planning, Analytics, scripting, and emerging SAP technologies.
- Support performance management, coaching, and career development of team members.
- Establish reusable frameworks, templates, accelerators, and best practices for SAC implementations.

Client & Stakeholder Management

- Act as a trusted SAP Analytics Cloud advisor to client stakeholders.
- Engage with business and technology leadership to understand strategic planning and analytics requirements.
- Facilitate workshops with Finance, FP&A;, Controlling, Sales, HR, and other business functions as applicable.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to business stakeholders.
- Manage senior client stakeholders and ensure alignment across business and technology teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased adoption of SAC capabilities.

Required Skills

- 8+ years of experience in SAP Analytics, SAP BI, Planning, or related SAP Data & Analytics technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Strong expertise in SAC Planning and enterprise planning solutions.
- Strong experience with SAC Planning Models, Stories, Data Actions, Multi Actions, Allocations, Versions, and Business Rules.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, planning, and financial planning processes.
- Experience with SAC Optimized/Advanced Experience and scripting.
- Robust understanding of SAC BI and reporting capabilities.
- Experience designing and implementing SAC dashboards and analytical applications.
- Strong understanding of SAC security, roles, teams, authorizations, and data access controls.
- Experience with SAC connectivity and data integration.
- Strong knowledge of Live and Import/Acquired data models and their appropriate use cases.
