Role Overview / Project Description

We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead the delivery of a large-scale enterprise transformation programme comprising multiple Agile delivery teams, architecture streams, product stakeholders, and engineering squads.

The RTE will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams, facilitating Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies, managing programme dependencies, driving delivery predictability, and ensuring business outcomes are successfully delivered.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in complex enterprise environments involving cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, distributed systems and regulatory or compliance-driven initiatives. This role requires a blend of delivery leadership, stakeholder management, technology awareness, and Agile coaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

- Lead and facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and delivery governance forums.
- Drive end-to-end delivery planning and execution across multiple squads, teams, and technology workstreams.
- Manage programme-level risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID) and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate delivery activities across Product, Business Analysis, Architecture, Engineering, UX and Operations teams.
- Support business outcome, epic and feature planning, ensuring work is sufficiently elaborated before delivery commencement.
- Provide transparent reporting of programme health, milestones, risks, dependencies, and delivery status to senior stakeholders.




- Drive delivery predictability through effective release planning, capacity management, and dependency tracking.
- Facilitate alignment between business objectives, roadmap priorities, and technology delivery outcomes.
- Escalate and remove blockers impacting programme delivery and team performance.
- Coordinate cross-team integration activities, release readiness, and production deployment planning.
- Foster collaboration between business and technology stakeholders to achieve programme objectives.
- Ensure governance, compliance and delivery processes are followed across the programme.

Must Have Skills

- 8+ years of experience in Agile delivery, programme delivery, release management or technology transformation initiatives in Financial Services, Banking or Capital Markets experience.
- Proven experience working as a Release Train Engineer (RTE), Senior Scrum Master, Delivery Lead or Programme Manager.
- Strong experience facilitating PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and other scaled Agile ceremonies.
- Hands-on experience managing complex dependency and risk landscapes across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Strong understanding of Agile, SAFe, Lean, and iterative delivery methodologies.




- Experience delivering large-scale enterprise technology programmes involving multiple delivery squads.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices and API-driven platforms.
- Working knowledge of up-to-date engineering practices including DevOps, CI/CD and release management.
- Experience using Agile delivery tools such as Jira, Rally, and Confluence.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively across business and technology teams.
- Excellent workshop facilitation and meeting management capabilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk and issue management.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous delivery environments.

4. Nice to Have Skills

- Experience delivering regulatory, compliance or operational risk transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of customer onboarding, workflow automation, or enterprise platform modernisation programmes.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple locations and vendors.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture practices and solution delivery frameworks.
- Familiarity with product operating models and value stream-based delivery approaches.
- SAFe Agilist, SAFe RTE, Scrum Master, PMP or equivalent Agile delivery certifications.Role & responsibilities
