Role: Reliability Test Engineer

About the Team and the Role The Product Validation Lab Team at Ather is responsible for ensuring the long-term durability and reliability of automotive electrical components through rigorous testing and simulation. This team bridges the gap between field performance and lab environments by developing advanced test methodologies, correlating test data to real-world life cycles, and performing deep-dive failure investigations to ensure high product quality.

This role is for a Reliability Test Engineer who will spearhead reliability test planning and execution for electrical components. You will be responsible for defining accelerated test profiles based on the physics of failure, establishing test-to-life correlations, and building automated test setups to validate the next generation of Ather’s components.

Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate automotive electrical component reliability testing and prepare technical reports.

- Establish test-to-life correlations to demonstrate the reliability of components under lab conditions.

- Identify critical field failures and reproduce them in the lab to derive new validation methodologies.

- Develop and deliver automated test setups and specialized load boxes for rigorous test execution.

- Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) for all test-related failures.

- Utilize mathematical models and statistical methods to estimate failure probabilities and reliability life.

- Ensure test quality and adherence to standard procedures across all validation cycles.

- Define validation requirements for component design changes and support CFT development.

Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field.





- 3+ years of experience in reliability testing for automotive and accessories components.

Must Have Competencies
- Operation and management of reliability lab equipment including climatic, salt spray, UV chambers, and vibration shakers.

- Application of physics of failure and aging laws to define accelerated test profiles for electronic components.

- Proficiency in reliability engineering statistical methods and mathematical modeling for life estimation.

- Mastery of international reliability standards such as ISO, IEC, and ASTM for automotive components.

Valuable to Have Competencies
- Processing and analysis of raw measurement data including strain and vibration signals.

- Automation of test setups and load box preparation for electrical component validation.

- Technical understanding of automotive electrical and electronics manufacturing processes.

- Establishing correlation between lab-demonstrated reliability and real-world field performance.
