Job Summary The Regulatory Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to nutraceutical, dietary supplement, and food products. The role involves managing regulatory approvals, FSSAI compliance, consumer affairs matters, product registrations, labeling compliance, and coordination with government authorities. The candidate will ensure that all products, processes, and documentation comply with current regulatory standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with FSSAI regulations, Food Safety and Standards Act, and other applicable laws related to nutraceutical products.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and implement necessary updates within the organization.
- Prepare, review, and maintain regulatory documentation for product approvals and compliance.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities regarding licenses, registrations, inspections, and audits.
- Manage product registrations, renewals, amendments, and regulatory submissions.

Consumer Affairs & Legal Compliance
- Handle consumer complaints and regulatory notices received from consumer authorities.
- Coordinate with legal and management teams for resolution of consumer disputes and compliance matters.
- Ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations applicable to nutraceutical products.
- Prepare responses to regulatory and consumer authority queries.

Product Labeling & Documentation
- Review and approve product labels, claims, packaging materials, and promotional content as per regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure compliance of health claims, nutritional information, ingredient declarations, and statutory warnings.




- Maintain technical files, product dossiers, specifications, and compliance records.

Audit & Inspection Management
- Support internal and external regulatory audits.
- Coordinate FSSAI inspections and ensure readiness for regulatory audits.
- Maintain compliance records and corrective action reports.

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with QA, QC, Production, R&D;, Marketing, and Sales teams.
- Provide regulatory guidance during product development and commercialization.
- Conduct compliance awareness and training sessions for employees.

Educational Qualifications

Essential

- B.Sc., M.Sc., B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

Preferred

- Diploma/Certification in Regulatory Affairs, Food Safety, or Nutraceutical Regulations.

Experience

- 5–10 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within Nutraceutical, Food Supplement, Pharmaceutical, or Healthcare industries.
- Hands-on experience dealing with FSSAI, Consumer Affairs authorities, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience in product registration, licensing, labeling compliance, and regulatory documentation.

Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of FSSAI regulations and food compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Consumer Protection Act and related regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Robust documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to interact with government authorities and external agencies.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and regulatory documentation systems.

- Timely completion of regulatory submissions and approvals.
- Zero major regulatory non-compliance observations.
- Timely closure of consumer complaints and regulatory notices.
- Successful completion of audits and inspections.
