Job Title: Staff Nurse

Department: Nursing Services

Reporting To: Nursing In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent

Location: Nashik, Maharashtra

Job Summary The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to women, newborns, infants, children, and adolescent patients. The role includes patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, patient education, and coordination with the multidisciplinary healthcare team while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and infection control protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to antenatal, postnatal, gynecology, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- Assess patients' physical and emotional conditions and report any changes promptly.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and patient progress.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the treating physician.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, surgeries, and examinations.
- Assist doctors during medical procedures and emergencies.

Maternal & Neonatal Care

- Monitor mothers during the antenatal and postnatal periods.
- Provide newborn care, including feeding support, thermal care, and infection prevention.
- Educate mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, immunization, and postnatal hygiene.

Pediatric Care

- Deliver age-appropriate nursing care to infants and children.
- Administer pediatric medications safely according to weight and physician orders.
- Monitor child growth, development, and clinical condition.
- Support parents and caregivers with education and counseling.

Infection Control & Patient Safety

- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Maintain hand hygiene and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).




- Ensure patient identification and medication safety practices.
- Report incidents, medication errors, and adverse events as per hospital policy.

Documentation

- Maintain accurate and timely nursing records.
- Complete admission, discharge, medication, and treatment documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.

Equipment & Inventory

- Maintain nursing equipment in working condition.
- Report faulty equipment immediately.
- Ensure adequate availability of medicines and consumables.

Communication & Coordination

- Coordinate with doctors, nursing supervisors, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Participate in nursing handovers and departmental meetings.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.

Quality & Compliance

- Follow NABH standards, hospital policies, and nursing protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Attend mandatory training programs, including BLS, Fire Safety, Infection Control, and POSH.

Qualifications

- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
- Valid State Nursing Council Registration.
- Certification in BLS is preferred.

Experience

- Fresher or 1–3 years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, NICU, PICU, or Women & Children Hospital.
