Regional HR Manager
Position: Regional HR
Industry: NBFC / MFI
Department: Human Resources
Location: Chennai / Salem - Regional Office
Reporting To: RM, HR Head
Role Overview The Regional HR Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations across branches within the assigned region. The role will involve regular travel to branches, manpower planning, bulk recruitment, employee engagement, HR compliance, performance management, and ensuring effective implementation of HR policies and processes at the branch level.
The role requires strong field orientation and the ability to work closely with Branch Managers, Regional/Zonal Business Heads, and the corporate HR team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional HR Operations
- Manage day-to-day HR operations for all branches within the assigned region.
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for Branch Managers and regional business teams.
- Ensure smooth implementation of HR policies, processes, and initiatives across branches.
- Monitor employee lifecycle activities including joining, transfers, promotions, confirmations, and exits.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR MIS.
2. Branch Visits & Field HR
- Undertake regular branch visits as per the regional travel plan.
- Interact with branch employees and management to understand HR-related issues and concerns.
- Conduct branch HR audits/checks covering attendance, employee documentation, statutory requirements, and HR process compliance.
- Identify employee engagement, retention, and manpower-related challenges during field visits.
- Provide timely resolution/escalation of employee grievances.
- Work closely with Branch Managers to improve employee experience and HR process adherence.
3. Bulk Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for branches, particularly for bulk hiring requirements.
- Understand manpower requirements from business teams and prepare recruitment plans.
- Source candidates through job portals, employee referrals, local networks, recruitment agencies, job fairs, and other channels.
- Coordinate and conduct mass recruitment drives/interviews.
- Manage recruitment for field positions such as:
- Branch Manager
- Credit Officer
- Individual loan Officer
- Field Officer
- Collection Officer
- Coordinate pre-employment documentation, background verification, offer release, and joining formalities.
4. Employee Engagement & Retention
- Drive regional employee engagement initiatives.
- Monitor attrition trends and identify reasons for employee turnover.
- Work with business managers on retention initiatives, particularly for critical and high-attrition positions.
- Conduct employee connect sessions during branch visits.
- Support recognition and employee appreciation initiatives.
5. Performance Management
- Coordinate the performance management process for regional employees.
- Ensure timely completion of probation reviews, confirmations, appraisals, and performance improvement processes.
- Support managers in setting objectives and addressing performance concerns.
- Track and report performance-related HR metrics.
6. HR Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to company HR policies and applicable labour laws.
- Monitor employee documentation and statutory compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with the HR/Compliance team on audit requirements.
- Ensure timely completion of HR documentation and employee records.
- Support internal and external HR audits.
7. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Regional Heads, Branch Managers, Business Heads, and other functional leaders.
- Coordinate with corporate HR teams such as Talent Acquisition, Payroll, L&D;, HR Operations, and HRBP.
- Act as a bridge between branch employees and corporate HR.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate/MBA/PG in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- 4-6 years of HR experience, preferably in NBFC, MFI, banking, financial services,.
- Experience in regional HR/field HR and bulk recruitment is preferred.
- Strong experience in handling branch/field employees.
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel to branches within the assigned region.
- Good knowledge of HR operations, recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-paced workplace.
