Role Description The Reels Editor role is a part-time, hybrid position based in Chennai, with a mix of in-studio work and some work-from-home flexibility.

The Reels

Editor will be responsible for editing short-form video content, particularly social media reels, using client footage and in-house material to create engaging, on-brand content. Day-to-day tasks include cutting and arranging clips, adding transitions, text overlays, music, and sound effects, and adapting edits to different social platforms and aspect ratios. The role also involves collaborating with directors, content creators, and social media teams to understand creative briefs, refine visual storytelling, and meet deadlines.

Editor will help maintain a consistent visual style, organize media assets, and export deliverables in the required formats and quality.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in video editing for short-form content, including proficiency with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Experience creating social media reels and vertical videos, with an understanding of platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics, text animation, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and viewer engagement.
- Ability to work with music and sound design, including syncing audio, selecting appropriate tracks, and balancing sound levels.
- Solid sense of pacing, rhythm, and narrative flow, with a keen eye for visual composition and detail.
- Strong organizational skills for managing project files, version control, and timely delivery of edits.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to respond to feedback and adjust edits accordingly.
- Prior experience in media production, event coverage, or content creation is an advantage; familiarity with the Chennai creative scene is a plus.
- Ability to work part time in a hybrid model, attending in-person sessions at the Chennai studio as needed.
