Requirements

OpenShift Platform:

- Solid knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift 4.x.

- Hands-on with Operators, Projects, YAML, CRDs, and Node architecture.

- Familiarity with OCP networking (OVN, ingress/egress, services & routes).

OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt):

- Experience with VM creation, editing, cloning, and lifecycle operations.

- Knowledge of VM templates, DataVolumes, PVC handling.

- Hands-on experience with MTV/MTC for VM migration.

Networking:

- Understanding of VM interfaces, bridge networking, and Multus basics.

- Knowledge of VLANs, routes, and firewall fundamentals.

- Understanding how VM networking maps to OCP networking.

Storage:

- Experience with Persistent Volumes (PV/PVC) and CSI drivers.

- RBD/Ceph experience is a strong plus.

- Ability to create and map storage classes for VM disks.

Linux &

- Virtualization:

- Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS).

- Understanding of QEMU/KVM fundamentals.

- Experience with image conversion (qcow2/raw) and virt tools.

Preferred Skills &

- Certifications:

- Red Hat Certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, EX280, EX318 (OpenShift Virtualization).

- Kubernetes Certifications: CKA/CKAD.

- Experience migrating workloads from VMware, OpenStack, or KVM.

- Experience with YAML, Ansible, or automation tools.

- Background in large-scale infra or cloud migration projects.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.





Migration Execution:

- Perform end-to-end VM migration using Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV/MTC).

- Conduct VM discovery, assessment, compatibility checks, and classification.

- Work with application owners to prepare migration waves and schedules.

- Lead pilot, POC, and production migrations.

Environment Build &

- Configuration:

- Configure and manage OpenShift Virtualization operators &
- CRDs.

- Set up storage classes & disk mappings (RBD, Ceph, SAN/NAS).

- Configure network mappings, VM interfaces, Multus (if used).

- Validate resource allocation, CPU/memory tuning, and performance baselines for migrated VMs.

Troubleshooting &

- Issue Resolution:

- Diagnose VM migration errors, performance issues, and KubeVirt VM runtime problems.

- Troubleshoot storage-related, networking-related, or driver-related migration failures.

- Work with Platform Engineers to resolve node-level or cluster-level issues.

Pre/Post Migration Activities:

- Conduct migration readiness checks (networking, storage, OS compatibility).

- Perform post-migration validation including boot verification, functionality & performance.

- Validate network reachability & end-to-end application behavior.

- Provide rollback & fallback support when required.
