Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced R&D; professional with hands-on experience in iron complex/API development. The candidate will be responsible for product development, process optimization, troubleshooting, scale-up, and technology transfer of iron-based pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize ferric and ferrous iron complexes and iron-based APIs.
- Work on Iron Sucrose, Iron Polymaltose/Iron Hydroxide Polymaltose, Ferric Carboxymaltose (FCM) and related iron complexes.
- Design and execute laboratory and pilot-scale experiments.
- Optimize reaction parameters including pH, temperature, reaction time, concentration, addition sequence and oxidation/reduction conditions.
- Optimize critical quality attributes such as molecular weight, particle size, PDI, iron content, oxidation state, solubility, stability and purity.
- Troubleshoot issues related to precipitation, aggregation, colour variation, molecular weight, yield and batch-to-batch consistency.
- Interpret analytical results from GPC, particle-size analysis, Zeta potential, iron assay and other characterization techniques.
- Prepare process parameters, batch procedures, development reports and scale-up protocols.
- Support pilot trials, process scale-up,



technology transfer and validation batches.
- Evaluate raw materials and their impact on process performance and final product quality.
- Coordinate with QC, QA, Production, Analytical and Engineering teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, yield improvement, cost reduction and quality enhancement.
- Maintain proper laboratory records and technical documentation.

Required Skills

- Strong practical knowledge of iron chemistry and coordination/complex chemistry.
- Hands-on experience in ferric and/or ferrous iron complex development.
- Knowledge of iron oxidation/reduction chemistry.
- Strong understanding of process parameters and their impact on product quality.
- Experience with iron-carbohydrate and iron-polymer complexes.
- Experience in process optimization and scale-up.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret analytical data and correlate process parameters with product quality.
- Good technical documentation and report-writing skills.

Preferred Experience Candidates with hands-on experience in pharmaceutical/API development of parenteral or injectable iron products will be preferred. Ideal Candidate A technically robust R&D; professional who can independently handle the complete development cycle:
