About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and energetic QSR Chef to manage our kitchen operations for a restaurant specialising in Mumbai-style fast food. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in preparing authentic Mumbai street-food dishes while maintaining taste, quality, hygiene, consistency, and speed of service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and supervise the preparation of Mumbai-style fast food and street-food items.

Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and food quality.

Manage daily kitchen operations and ensure timely order preparation during peak hours.

Handle food preparation, cooking, plating, and dispatch as per SOPs.

Develop and maintain standard recipes, portion controls, and preparation procedures.

Assist in menu development, new dish trials, and recipe R&D.;

Maintain proper inventory of raw materials and coordinate with the purchase/store team.

Monitor food wastage and implement effective food-cost control measures.

Ensure proper storage, labelling, FIFO and handling of food products.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.

Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, helpers, and stewards.





Plan daily mise-en-place according to expected business volume.

Ensure all kitchen equipment is used and maintained properly.

Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth and rapid order execution.

Handle customer feedback related to food quality and take corrective action.

Ensure compliance with restaurant hygiene and safety standards.

Preferred Cuisine / Product Knowledge

Candidates with hands-on experience in Mumbai fast food/street food such as:

Vada Pav

Misal Pav

Pav Bhaji

Bombay Sandwich

Masala Pav

Keema Pav

Frankie/Rolls

Mumbai-style Chinese

Chaat and other Mumbai street-food items

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of QSR kitchen operations

Good understanding of Mumbai/Maharashtrian flavours

Excellent food preparation and cooking skills

Knowledge of recipe standardisation and portion control

Food-cost and wastage management

Positive team-handling and kitchen management skills

Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours

Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards

Good communication and coordination skills

Qualification

Hotel Management / Culinary Arts certification preferred, although candidates with strong relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.
