The QS is responsible for cost estimation, BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, variation handling, and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-off for MEP items from drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Analyze rates, prepare cost estimates, and support tendering activities.
- Track project costs, budgets, and cash flows.
- Prepare valuations, monthly bills, and progress claims.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison statements.
- Identify variations/changes and prepare VO claims and supporting documentation.
- Prepare reconciliation reports (materials, labor, subcontract).
- Support procurement through technical and financial evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Diploma + QS certification.
- 2–7 years of QS experience in MEP construction.
- Strong knowledge of cost control, tendering, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software.
