Role Description The Quantity Surveyor Faculty role is a full-time, on-site position based at Zeitnah Academy in Kozhikode. The faculty member will design and deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on quantity surveying, cost estimation, contracts, and related civil engineering topics. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing course materials, updating content to reflect current industry standards, assessing learner performance, and providing constructive feedback.

The role also involves mentoring learners, participating in curriculum development, collaborating with colleagues on academic initiatives, and contributing to seminars or events that strengthen the academy’s civil engineering community.





Qualifications

- Strong foundation in quantity surveying, including measurement, cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of civil engineering and construction project management principles, with the ability to relate theory to real-world applications.
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software (e.g., MS Excel, quantity take-off software, basic CAD tools) used in estimating and documentation.
- Demonstrated teaching, training, or mentoring skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse learners.
- Effective communication, classroom management, and presentation skills, with a learner-centered and inclusive approach.
- Ability to develop structured course content, assessment methods, and learning materials aligned with industry practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field; skilled certifications are an advantage.
- Relevant industry experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management; prior academic or training experience is preferred.
- Commitment to continuous learning, ethical practice, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary academic environment.
