Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager – Aerospace & Defence to lead the Quality function for aerospace and defence component manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for managing the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 9001 and applicable aerospace/defence standards, and driving continuous improvement, customer satisfaction and zero-defect initiatives.

The role requires robust experience in aerospace/defence manufacturing, quality systems, audits, customer and supplier quality, NPI and problem-solving methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, maintain and continuously improve the AS9100 Rev D / ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and aerospace/defence quality requirements.
- Plan and lead internal, customer and third-party audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Manage First Article Inspection (FAI/FAIR) requirements in accordance with AS9102.
- Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers, Inspectors and Lab Technicians.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs including DPPM, FPY, COPQ, customer complaints, OTD and audit findings.
- Oversee incoming, in-process, final and source inspection activities.
- Ensure effective calibration,



MSA and measurement system practices.
- Handle customer quality issues, complaints, SCARs and corrective actions.
- Lead 8D, Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why, CAPA and corrective/preventive actions.
- Drive supplier quality improvement, supplier audits and supplier development activities.
- Support NPI, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and design/quality reviews.
- Drive FOD prevention, counterfeit parts prevention and zero-defect initiatives.
- Implement continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, SPC, Lean and other quality tools.
- Ensure proper product traceability, configuration control and quality record retention.
- Support new customer approvals, RFQs and quality-related inputs.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and other cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace / Production Engineering or relevant discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in Quality, with minimum 4 years of experience in Aerospace/Defence manufacturing.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial/leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 Rev D, AS9102, AS9103 and AS9145.
- Experience with aerospace quality audits and customer requirements.




- Strong knowledge of GD&T;, FMEA, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP and 8D.
- Knowledge of CMM, NDT and special processes such as heat treatment, surface treatment and welding.
- Exposure to NADCAP requirements will be an advantage.
- Experience in supplier quality, customer quality and quality system management.

Preferred Certifications
- AS9100 Lead Auditor
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt
- ASQ CQE / CQM or equivalent quality certification
