About us

Caliplast Cables has manufactured ELV and fire safety cables since 1993. Our factory at Dadra produces fire survival, instrumentation, control, versatile, data and coaxial cables for fire safety, automation and infrastructure projects across India. We hold a BIS licence under IS 17505 for fire survival cables.

The role

We are looking for a Quality Control & Lab In-Charge to run our in-house testing laboratory and own product quality across the plant. You will be responsible for making sure every cable that leaves the factory meets the specification, the applicable standard and the client's requirement.

What you will do

Run the factory lab and carry out routine, type and acceptance tests on raw materials, in-process material and finished cables.

Perform tests including conductor resistance, high voltage, insulation resistance, spark testing, dimensional checks, tensile strength and elongation, hot set for XLPE, and other tests as required by the relevant standards.

Inspect incoming raw material such as copper, PVC and XLPE compounds, mica tape and armour wire, and approve or reject against specification.

Carry out in-process inspection on the shop floor and stop non-conforming production.

Maintain complete, accurate test records,



test certificates and calibration records for all lab equipment.

Prepare test reports and quality documents for client dispatches and third party inspections.

Handle BIS surveillance visits and factory inspections, and ensure the plant stays compliant with licence conditions.

Coordinate client and third party inspections at the factory.

Investigate customer complaints and internal rejections, identify root causes and put corrective actions in place.

Work with production to improve process consistency and reduce rejections.

What we are looking for

B.E. or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or B.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry.

Three to six years of experience in quality control or lab testing in a wire and cable manufacturing plant.

Working knowledge of IS 8130, IS 1554, IS 694, IS 7098 and IS 17505. Exposure to BS 6387, BS 7846 or IEC 60331 is a strong advantage.

Experience handling BIS licence inspections and maintaining BIS documentation.

Disciplined about records. Every test, every batch, documented properly.

Firm enough to reject material or hold a dispatch when it does not meet the standard.

Candidates based in or willing to relocate to the Dadra, Silvassa, Vapi or Daman area preferred.
