Role Overview The Quality Control Executive is responsible for day-to-day quality operations at the assigned Gemini Paints factory laboratory. The role covers testing and approval of raw materials and finished goods, routine chemical and instrumental analysis, and close coordination with Production, Stores and Purchase to ensure that every batch consistently meets specification. The Executive helps maintain robust quality documentation and supports a disciplined, reliable QC function.

Key Responsibilities

Sampling & Analysis

- Raw material & finished goods testing Sample, test and approve/reject incoming raw materials and finished products against defined specifications.
- Routine chemical analysis Carry out day-to-day wet chemical analysis and standard tests (e.g. viscosity, density/specific gravity, fineness of grind, drying time, opacity/hiding power, shade and gloss matching).
- Instrumental analysis Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring correct calibration and reliable results.
- In-process quality control — Monitor quality at key production stages and support batch approval and release.

Coordination & Problem-Solving

- Work closely with Production, Stores and Purchase to resolve quality issues, address non-conforming materials and support smooth, uninterrupted operations.
- Investigate deviations, customer complaints and batch failures, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.





Documentation & Standards

- Maintain QC records, test reports, batch registers and material storage documentation accurately and up to date.
- Prepare and maintain product specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and QA-related documentation.
- Support internal quality audits and help uphold consistent testing standards across the lab.

Candidate Profile

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, or a Paint Technology background; Diploma with relevant experience also considered. Freshers are welcome to apply.
- 0–5 years of QC / laboratory experience, preferably in paints, construction chemicals or an allied chemical industry.
- Working knowledge of wet chemical analysis, standard paint/chemical tests and laboratory instruments.
- Ability to read specifications and make sound pass/reject decisions against defined limits.
- Good record-keeping discipline and comfort with MS Excel for test reporting and registers.
- Detail-oriented, reliable and methodical, with a quality-first mindset.
- Willingness to be based at the assigned location and to support shift operations as required.
