Job Overview

V2 Retail Limited is looking for an experienced Quality Checking Head to lead all inward and outward quality control functions at its Distribution Centre. The role holder will be responsible for establishing and enforcing quality standards for merchandise received from vendors, ensuring adherence to SOPs during inspection, and minimizing quality-related returns and store-level complaints. This is a leadership role requiring strong process discipline, vendor coordination, and a hands-on approach to floor-level quality operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end quality inspection process for inward merchandise at the DC, including AQL-based sampling, fabric/garment checks, and packaging quality verification.
- Define, document, and continuously improve QC SOPs, checklists, and inspection parameters in line with company and category-specific quality standards.
- Monitor vendor-wise quality performance and rejection trends; drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) with the merchandising/sourcing team for repeat quality issues.




- Oversee outward quality checks prior to store dispatch to minimize in-store returns due to defects, mismatched sizing, or damaged goods.
- Build and lead a team of QC inspectors/supervisors; conduct training on inspection standards, tools, and reporting.
- Track and report key quality KPIs rejection rate, vendor quality score, return-to-vendor (RTV) volumes, and in-store quality complaints to senior management.
- Coordinate with warehouse operations, inventory, and procurement teams to ensure quality holds do not disrupt dispatch timelines unnecessarily.
- Conduct periodic audits of QC processes and documentation to ensure compliance and audit-readiness.
- Investigate quality escalations from stores and customers, identify root causes, and implement systemic fixes.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and rejection/RTV documentation in the system for traceability.

Key Skills & Requirements

- 6–12 years of experience in quality control/assurance, preferably in apparel, fashion retail, or FMCG warehousing.
- Strong knowledge of AQL sampling methods, garment/fabric quality parameters, and inspection tools.
- Experience managing vendor quality scorecards and driving CAPA with suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and warehouse/ERP systems for quality data tracking and reporting.
- Robust leadership skills with experience managing QC teams on the warehouse floor.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and process orientation.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work across sourcing, warehouse, and store operations teams.
