Firmware Automation Engineer

Department: Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Team: Quality Assurance (QA)

Reports To: QA Manager

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Firmware Automation Engineer to support quality assurance activities for IoT-enabled and connected products. The role involves firmware validation, automation testing, communication protocol verification, and end-to-end product quality assurance.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in embedded firmware testing, Python-based automation, hardware-software integration, and communication protocol validation. The engineer will work closely with Firmware, Hardware, DevOps, and Product Engineering teams to ensure reliable and high-quality product releases.

Job Responsibilities

- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for firmware and embedded products.
- Perform firmware, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate communication protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, UART, SPI, I2C, BLE, and TCP/IP.
- Execute firmware testing across Linux, RTOS, and Non-RTOS platforms.
- Support CI/CD integration and automated test execution.
- Participate in hardware-software integration testing and IoT product validation.
- Analyze test results, debug failures, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Utilize debugging tools such as Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Wireshark, and Protocol Analyzers.
- Contribute to automation framework enhancements and test coverage improvements.

Technical Skills Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in Embedded Firmware Testing, Validation, and Automation.
- Hands-on experience with Python scripting and test automation.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks.
- Exposure to firmware, integration, system, and regression testing.
- Experience working with embedded hardware validation environments.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Programming




- Strong Python programming skills (Mandatory).
- Working knowledge of C/C++ preferred.

- 2-5 years of experience in embedded firmware testing and automation.
- ISTQB Certification preferred.

Work Location & • Travel
- 5 days/week work from office (mandatory).
- 5-10% travel based on project and business requirements.
