Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our software testing team. The candidate will be responsible for understanding requirements, creating and executing test cases, identifying defects, and supporting the team in delivering high-quality software.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of software testing concepts, API testing, SQL, and basic automation, with a willingness to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand business and technical requirements.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
- Perform UI and browser-based testing of web applications.
- Perform basic API testing using Postman or Swagger.
- Perform database validation using SQL queries.
- Participate in regression testing during application releases.
- Perform post-deployment sanity testing in test and production environments.
- Work closely with developers and business teams to understand and resolve issues.
- Maintain test execution results and provide testing status updates.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum activities such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Required Skills

- Basic understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).




- Positive knowledge of Functional and Regression Testing.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum.
- Basic knowledge of API testing.
- Basic SQL/database testing skills.
- Experience with Jira or similar defect-management tools.
- Good understanding of web applications and browser testing.
- Basic programming knowledge in Java or Python or similar scripting.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

- Postman / Swagger experience.
- Git knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of data/ETL testing or Snowflake.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Candidate Profile

- 1–5 years of QA/testing experience.
- Strong interest in software quality and automation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn new testing tools and technologies.
- Ability to analyze problems and identify defects with attention to detail.

Key Success Criteria

- The QA Engineer should be able to understand requirements, design effective test cases, identify defects, validate application and data behavior, and gradually build automation skills while working effectively within an Agile development team.
