ABOUT THE ROLE

We are building a next-generation enterprise SaaS platform that handles complex operational workflows across multiple business domains. Quality is not a gate at the end of a sprint — it is built into every story from the moment acceptance criteria are written. We are looking for a QA Engineer with solid Playwright automation experience to join our engineering team and help us ship reliable, well-tested software every sprint.

This is a hands-on automation role. You will design and maintain our automated test framework, integrate tests into our CI/CD pipeline, and work closely with developers and the Business Analyst to catch defects before they reach production. You will also participate fully in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint-end quality validation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Test Automation — Playwright

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Playwright as the primary automation framework
- Build and maintain a scalable, reusable automation framework that the team can extend as new modules are delivered
- Automate coverage across functional, regression, smoke, end-to-end, and cross-browser test scenarios
- Identify which test scenarios are suitable for automation and prioritize coverage based on risk and release impact
- Improve automation reliability, execution time, and maintainability continuously — flaky tests are your responsibility to fix

API & Data Validation

- Perform API testing using Playwright API testing, Postman, or REST Assured — validate request/response contracts, status codes, error handling, and edge cases
- Validate data integrity using SQL queries and direct database verification — confirm the backend reflects what the UI shows




- Test integrations between modules and third-party services to catch contract breaks before they reach production

CI/CD Integration

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines so tests run on every pull request and block bad code from merging
- Analyse test failures and distinguish application defects from script issues or environment problems — triage accurately and quickly
- Maintain pipeline health — a broken pipeline is a blocker for the whole team

Manual Testing & Defect Management

- Execute manual test cases for scenarios not yet covered by automation or requiring human judgement
- Log, track, and verify defects in JIRA with enough detail for developers to reproduce and fix without back-and-forth
- Participate in defect triage — distinguish product gaps from scope changes and communicate clearly to both sides

Agile Delivery

- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Review user stories and acceptance criteria during refinement — raise testability concerns before development begins, not after
- Participate in sprint-end demos and provide quality-related feedback to the team and stakeholders
- Contribute to test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, and release validation documentation
- Collaborate with the Business Analyst to ensure acceptance criteria are specific enough to test,



and with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly

WHAT YOU MUST BRING

- 2–4 years in a QA role with a strong focus on test automation — not just manual testing with some automation on the side
- Hands-on Playwright experience — you have written and maintained a real automation framework, not just run existing scripts
- API testing proficiency using Postman, REST Assured, or Playwright's API testing module
- SQL skills sufficient to write queries that validate backend data without developer help
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Agile/Scrum experience — you have participated in ceremonies and understand how QA fits into a sprint cadence
- JIRA or equivalent defect tracking — you write bug reports that developers can reproduce on the first read

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

- Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS applications — you understand how shared infrastructure creates unique test scenarios
- Familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript — Playwright works best when the tester can write clean, maintainable code
- Prior experience on ERP, HRMS, payroll, or financial software where data accuracy is non-negotiable
- Knowledge of performance or load testing tools (k6, JMeter, or similar)
- Experience testing REST APIs with complex authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT)
- Exposure to accessibility testing or security testing basics
