What We re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in TypeScript, Playwright, Selenium, and API Automation Testing. The role requires someone who can go beyond test execution and actively contribute to automation framework development, test strategy, test coverage, and overall product quality. The candidate should be comfortable building and maintaining scalable automation suites for web applications and APIs while working closely with developers and other engineering teams throughout the SDLC.

Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript is particularly important for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using TypeScript
- Build and execute UI automation suites using Playwright and Selenium
- Develop automated tests for REST APIs and validate request/response behaviour, status codes, payloads, and business scenarios
- Design and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks
- Execute functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing
- Participate in test planning, test case design, automation strategy, and coverage analysis
- Analyze automation results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers for resolution
- Troubleshoot automation failures and perform root-cause analysis
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain existing automation suites and continuously improve test coverage, reliability, and execution stability
- Participate in defect triage, release validation, and quality discussions
- Collaborate closely with Developers, QA Engineers, Product teams, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC

Required Skills

- 5-8 years of experience in QA / Test Automation
- Strong hands-on programming experience with TypeScript
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
- Experience with Selenium WebDriver




- Strong experience in API Automation Testing
- Experience designing, developing, or significantly enhancing automation frameworks
- Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON, request/response validation, and API error handling
- Solid understanding of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, test strategy, and defect lifecycle
- Experience with Git and version control
- Experience integrating automation tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills

Good to Have

- Experience building Playwright automation frameworks from scratch
- Experience with API automation libraries/frameworks within the TypeScript ecosystem
- Understanding of parallel execution, test retries, fixtures, reusable components, and reporting within Playwright
- Experience with cross-browser and responsive web application testing
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments
- Experience working closely with DevOps teams on automated test execution within deployment pipelines
- Understanding of performance and security testing concepts
