Role Summary

Build and integrate Python-based AI services, including LLMs, RAG and APIs, with Moodle/CULMS, CUIMS/ERP and other university applications, and take them into production.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop backend services and REST APIs in Python (FastAPI/Flask/Django) with PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis.
- Integrate open-source and API-based LLMs (Llama, Qwen, Mistral, Gemma) using Ollama, vLLM or Hugging Face.
- Build RAG pipelines covering ingestion, chunking, embeddings and retrieval, using Qdrant, pgvector, Milvus or Weaviate.
- Integrate AI services with Moodle/CULMS through Web Services, plugins and authentication, and support upgrades and compatibility testing.
- Develop PHP-based Moodle plugins (local, block, activity and question types) following Moodle coding standards, APIs and the plugin lifecycle.
- Deploy on Linux, Docker, AWS or on-premise servers, using Git and CI/CD, and provide production support and troubleshooting.
