Job Purpose

Globus Thenken is a rapid-growing consulting firm catering to specialized client needs in the renewable energy industry. The firm provides strategic, analytical, engineering services ranging from system design, asset monitoring, and operations management to customized business intelligence services for leading developers and investment firms. We are seeking a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Analyst to support the evaluation, optimization, and management of energy storage projects.

The ideal candidate will analyze data, monitor system performance, and provide insights to enhance the efficiency and financial performance of battery storage systems. This role requires a solid understanding of energy markets, battery technology, and the operational aspects of energy storage systems.

Duties And Responsibilities

Daily Monitoring & Operations

- Monitor BESS assets via energy management/SCADA and monitoring portals on a daily basis, reviewing system status, availability, and alarms across the fleet.
- Identify and triage alarms, communication faults, and performance anomalies, initiating vendor dispatch or internal escalation as needed.
- Track daily availability, state of charge, charge/discharge activity, and system uptime, flagging deviations from expected operating behavior.
- Perform first-level review of underperformance or offline events, distinguishing routine issues from those requiring field intervention.
- Maintain daily operational logs and shift/handover notes so open issues and asset status are clearly communicated across the monitoring team.

O&M; / Vendor Management

- Serve as a primary point of contact for BESS-related O&M; vendor coordination, tracking dispatch tickets, response times, and SLA compliance for battery asset issues.




- Track and manage the full lifecycle of BESS service tickets - from issue identification through vendor dispatch, resolution confirmation, and root-cause documentation.
- Support contract management for BESS O&M; vendors, including SLA tracking, dispatch cost review, and identifying scope or response-time discrepancies.
- Review vendor field reports and service documentation, confirming that work performed matches the reported issue and that resolutions are properly closed out.
- Contribute to incident investigations (e.g., thermal events, breaker trips, communication failures) by pulling portal data, correlating with vendor field reports, and helping determine whether root cause is BESS-side or facility-side.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with the monitoring team, performance/operations managers, and project managers to prioritize BESS issues within the broader portfolio workflow.

Asset Management & Documentation PV/BESS Analyst

- Maintain and update site-level documentation (as-built configurations, equipment inventory, warranty and O&M; contract terms) to keep portal data and physical asset records reconciled.
- Track warranty status and entitlements (cycles/throughput used vs. coverage), flagging assets approaching thresholds or eligible for claims.
- Monitor capacity and performance trends over time to support long-term asset health tracking and augmentation/maintenance planning.




- Ensure storage assets remain in compliance with relevant energy storage standards, codes, and site-level requirements.
- Maintain an accurate, current view of fleet configuration, vendor assignments, and open issues across all BESS sites.

Reporting

- Prepare recurring internal and client-facing status reports summarizing BESS fleet health, availability, open tickets, and vendor performance trends.
- Provide data-driven observations and recommendations to improve system availability, reliability, and O&M; responsiveness.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience with energy storage systems, renewable energy, or grid operations is preferred.
- Hands on experience in PVsyst/Helioscope etc simulation software.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, or other modeling software).
- Knowledge of battery technologies, energy markets, and grid regulations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with energy storage economics, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), capacity markets, and ancillary services.
- Experience working with SCADA systems or other energy management software.

Working Conditions The candidate will be required to have some flexibility in working hours, with potential afternoon and late evening shifts overlapping with multiple time zones. This is a minimal/no travel involved, office-based role. Typical shifts are between 4:30 pm - 1:30 am, reporting to the head office in Pune, India.
