Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and market-savvy Purchase Manager / Sourcing Manager to lead our saree and textile procurement operations. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality Kanchipuram, Banarasi, Gadwal, Pochampally, Soft Silk, and Fancy sarees directly from weaver clusters, manufacturers, and wholesalers.

The ideal candidate must have strong vendor networks across key textile hubs (Kanchipuram, Surat, Varanasi, Dharmavaram, Pochampally, etc.), exceptional negotiation skills, and a strong eye for saree designs, fabric quality, and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

- Product Sourcing & Procurement:
- Source high-quality silk, handloom, and synthetic/fancy sarees matching Gayathri Reddy Silks’ brand standards and customer expectations.
- Conduct direct cluster sourcing from weavers, looms, and textile manufacturers in major saree manufacturing hubs.
- Vendor Management & Price Negotiation:
- Build, maintain, and manage strong relationships with weavers, master weavers, and wholesale vendors.
- Negotiate bulk rates, credit terms, and delivery schedules to achieve maximum profit margins without compromising on quality.
- Inventory Control & Assortment Planning:
- Track store sales trends and inventory levels across all Hyderabad showrooms to forecast upcoming product demand.
- Plan seasonal collections (Bridal, Festival, Summer, Daily Wear) in coordination with the operations and merchandising teams.
- Quality Control & Inspection:
- Inspect fabric quality, weaving perfection, zari authenticity, colorfastness, and finishing before dispatch/stocking.




- Manage purchase returns, defects, and vendor claim resolutions.
- Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Continuously monitor evolving saree fashion trends, color palettes, motif designs, and competitor offerings to keep stock fresh and relevant.
- Reporting & Budgeting:
- Manage purchase budgets, generate purchase orders (POs), and maintain accurate vendor stock records using ERP/Tally software.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

- Education: Graduate or Degree/Diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Merchandising, or Business Administration (preferred).
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of proven experience as a Purchase / Sourcing / Buying Manager specifically in Saree Retail, Handloom, or Wholesale Textile industry.
- Market Knowledge: Deep knowledge of silk varieties (Kanchipuram, Banarasi, Gadwal, Dupion, Tussar, Soft Silk) and weaving techniques.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to major weaving centers across India (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, AP, UP, Gujarat, West Bengal).
- Skills:
- Outstanding negotiation and networking skills.
- High proficiency in quality appraisal of fabrics and zari.
- Basic knowledge of inventory software / MS Excel / Tally.
- Fluency in Telugu (essential) along with Hindi / English.
