Job Summary The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely availability of materials, competitive pricing, quality compliance, and effective supplier management. The role will involve vendor development, negotiation, purchase planning, inventory coordination, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business requirements.

- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors.

- Source materials, products, equipment, and services at competitive prices.

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.

- Raise and manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.

- Monitor supplier performance, quality, lead times, and compliance.

- Coordinate with stores, production, finance, quality, and other departments regarding procurement requirements.

- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimize stock-outs and excess inventory.

- Analyze market prices and identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Handle supplier issues, shortages, quality concerns, returns, and claims.

- Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor documentation, and MIS reports.

- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approval processes.

- Develop alternate sources for critical materials to reduce supply risks.





- Review purchase data and prepare regular reports on spend, savings, pending orders, and supplier performance.

- Support audits and ensure proper documentation of procurement transactions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.

- 5–10 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement.

- Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.

- Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply-chain operations.

- Strong analytical and cost-comparison skills.

- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/procurement software such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar systems.

- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and procurement activities simultaneously.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
