The Procurement Manager will bridge the gap between R&D;, Marketing, and Supply Chain. This role focuses on sourcing innovative packaging materials as well as raw ingredients to support existing product range, packaging renovation projects and New Product Development (NPD). The goal is to secure high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective materials while accelerating time-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with R&D; and Marketing teams for sourcing the required raw materials and packaging materials. Supplier Sourcing & Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for innovative packaging materials and ingredients. Sustainability Initiative: Drive the adoption of sustainable, eco-friendly, and recyclable packaging materials to align with corporate sustainability goals. Cost Management & Value Engineering: Negotiate competitive contracts, MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities), and pricing for packaging material and raw material reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) through value engineering. Vendor Performance Management: Monitor supplier KPIs (on-time delivery, quality compliance,
innovative capabilities) and conduct audits and evaluations. Quality Compliance: Work with Quality Assurance to ensure all current packaging and materials comply with necessary regulatory standards. Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market trends regarding packaging design, innovative materials, and ingredient pricing.
Required Skillset
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of procurement experience preferably in direct sourcing of packaging materials and raw materials. Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage large budgets, and drive cost-reduction initiatives. Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FMCG packaging materials as well as raw materials. ERP Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP). Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to bridge communication between Suppliers, R&D;, Design and Production teams
