About the Role

We are seeking a Proposal Engineer with 3 - 6 years of experience in preparing techno-commercial proposals for pressure vessels, process equipment, gas treatment systems, and skid-mounted packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, cost estimation, and customer requirements, and will work closely with sales, process, design, procurement, and project teams to deliver competitive and technically compliant proposals.

Job Responsibilities

- Review customer enquiries, RFQs, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals for pressure vessels, process equipment, skid-mounted systems, and gas treatment solutions.
- Interpret PFDs, P&IDs;, datasheets, and customer specifications to define the project scope.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, procurement, and project teams for technical inputs.
- Prepare cost estimates, material take-offs (MTOs), and pricing sheets based on engineering inputs.
- Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors and evaluate technical and commercial offers.
- Prepare proposal documents, compliance statements, deviations, and technical clarifications.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers and support the sales team during bid evaluations.
- Maintain proposal documentation, cost databases, and bid records.
- Support project handover to the execution team after order receipt.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.

Preferred candidate profile





Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- 3 - 6 years of experience in proposal engineering, estimation, tendering, or application engineering for process equipment or EPC projects.
- Good understanding of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process piping, skid-mounted systems, and process equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs;, GA drawings, equipment datasheets, and customer specifications.
- Experience in preparing techno-commercial proposals and cost estimates.
- Knowledge of engineering standards such as ASME, API, TEMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple proposals and meet strict submission deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with biogas, renewable energy, gas upgrading, or process equipment industries.
- Knowledge of costing, budgeting, vendor evaluation, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with pressure vessel fabrication, piping systems, and skid package engineering.
- Strong customer interaction and technical presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and sales teams.
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
