vConstruct, a Pune based Construction Technology company seeks a Project Services Accountant (Insurance vertical) who can help thrive the group to efficiently support the construction projects with project accounting expertise. Accounting Support for Projects (ASP) is a business unit in vConstruct, a company based in Pune and providing construction related services to US based customers.

Responsibilities of a project services accountant (working in the RISK - Insurance vertical) include reviewing construction accounting data, expenses approval and coding, insurance certificates and claims and managing documents that are related to subcontractor and DPR entities or projects. Ideally the candidate needs to be well versed in accounting concepts, be self-driven with good communication in English, both verbal and written, as most of the projects under this business unit are for US based clients. If is foremost to keep up with the quality and diligence in delivering work on time, while working on accounting and para-accounting services provided to the construction projects as well as corporate services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review subcontractors' insurance certificate and its endorsements to manage the compliance across projects and regions.
2. Triage incidents, understand contractual insurance requirements, scope evaluation and endorsement verbiage. Ability to connect dots on what happens next.
3. Verify insurance coverages including General Liability, Automobile Liability, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Pollution Liability, and other applicable policies.
4. Monitor insurance renewals and proactively follow up on expiring policies and missing documentation.
5. Proactively work on escalating and solving difficult scenarios in handling insurance.
6. Good eye for details when it comes to review or triage of information. Be able to request all the necessary details in one email with precise language.

Good judgement call on what kind of coverage would be triggered and process it per the workflow.
8. Challenge or improve the workflows with technology or automations.
9. Perform quality checks and audits to ensure adherence and ensure grey areas are addressed.
10. Identify trends in quality, compliance gaps and recurring issues. Sharpen the trainings.
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending corrective and preventive actions.
12. Participate in internal audits and process reviews.
13. Along with Insurance, the person should also be open to learning all project accounting aspects and other ASP verticals/workflows as required by the Business Unit or their goal.

Requirements:

- 1-4 years of proven experience in accounting process or insurance industry (not ideally insurance sales)
- Strong knowledge of accounting concepts and ability to explain them.

Education
