Role Description The Professor – Law will serve as a senior academic leader within the School of Law at Amity University Kolkata, responsible for teaching, research, and academic mentoring. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Kolkata Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and delivering lecture courses and seminars in core and specialized areas of law, supervising dissertations and theses, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development and academic governance.

The professor will lead and participate in research projects, publish in reputable journals, present at conferences, and support collaborations with industry, legal practitioners, and other academic institutions. Additional responsibilities include contributing to accreditation processes, quality assurance initiatives, outreach activities, and fostering an inclusive, intellectually rigorous learning environment.

Qualifications

- Advanced expertise in Law, with specialization in areas such as Constitutional Law and Criminal Law, and a strong record of legal scholarship.
- Demonstrated ability in Research,



including peer-reviewed publications, funded projects, conference presentations, and collaborative initiatives.
- Proven Teaching experience at the university level, with skill in course design, student evaluation, and use of innovative, learner-centered pedagogies.
- Minimum of a PhD in Law and at least 8 years of post-PhD academic or equivalent qualified experience in legal education or practice.( From NLU )
- Strong academic leadership, mentorship, and communication skills, with the ability to guide junior faculty and students in academic and professional development.
- Familiarity with contemporary legal developments, interdisciplinary approaches, and integration of practical case studies and moot court activities into teaching.
- Commitment to ethical practice, diversity, and inclusion, and to upholding the values and academic standards of Amity University.
- Experience with academic administration, curriculum committees, accreditation, or quality assurance processes will be an added advantage.
