Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Work Supervisor to manage day-to-day production activities and manpower in a sheet metal fabrication unit. The candidate should have hands-on knowledge of Laser Cutting, CNC Bending, Welding, Grinding and general sheet metal fabrication processes, along with the ability to understand 2D engineering drawings, perform measurements and ensure product quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage production activities and shop-floor manpower on a daily basis.
- Allocate work to operators and workers according to production requirements and priorities.
- Read and understand 2D engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and fabrication details.
- Check component dimensions using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Measuring Tape, Height Gauge, etc.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspection of fabricated components.
- Ensure components are manufactured as per drawing, required dimensions and quality standards.
- Have practical knowledge of CNC Sheet Bending operations, including basic understanding of bend allowance, bend sequence and tooling.
- Have working knowledge of Fiber Laser Cutting and understanding of laser-cut components and their quality requirements.
- Supervise MIG/TIG welding and other fabrication/welding activities.
- Supervise grinding, deburring, finishing and assembly-related activities.
- Identify fabrication defects and coordinate with operators/workers for necessary corrections.
- Monitor production targets, work progress and ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Maintain discipline, productivity and proper utilization of manpower.




- Ensure proper handling and movement of sheets, components and finished parts.
- Coordinate with the production/management team regarding job priorities, material requirements and production issues.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices on the shop floor.
- Follow all required safety procedures and ensure workers use appropriate PPE.
- Minimize material wastage, rework and rejection through proper supervision and quality checks.

Required Skills
- Strong practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Good understanding of 2D mechanical/fabrication drawings.
- Good knowledge of dimensions, tolerances and measurements.
- Ability to independently check component quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Knowledge of CNC Bending, Laser Cutting, Welding and Grinding.
- Good manpower handling and team-management skills.
- Ability to identify production and quality issues and take corrective action.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.

Qualification & Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication/services.
- Candidates with experience in a sheet metal fabrication job-work/manufacturing setting will be preferred.
- Practical shop-floor experience and manpower-handling capability are essential.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a hands-on shop-floor supervisor who can independently manage manpower, understand drawings, verify dimensions and quality, and supervise the complete sheet metal fabrication process from Laser Cutting → CNC Bending → Welding → Grinding/Finishing → Final Inspection.
