1. Job Purpose

To manage and control the complete production operations of the factory, ensuring that interior products, furniture, retail fixtures and customized components are manufactured as per approved drawings, quality standards, project schedules and cost targets. The Senior Production Manager is responsible for achieving production targets through effective manpower planning, machine utilization, material coordination, quality control, wastage reduction and timely dispatch.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
- Convert project requirements and approved drawings into practical production plans.
- Ensure production is completed within the planned timelines.
- Monitor production progress against project schedules.
- Coordinate with PPC, Projects, Design, Purchase, Stores and Quality departments.
- Prioritize urgent and critical project requirements.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective action.

B. Factory Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day shop-floor operations.
- Ensure smooth workflow between cutting, CNC, edge banding, machining, assembly, finishing and packing.
- Monitor machine utilization and production capacity.
- Improve production flow and reduce idle time.
- Ensure proper allocation of manpower and machines.
- Maintain discipline and productivity on the shop floor.

C. Manpower Management
- Plan manpower requirements based on production workload.
- Allocate workers according to skill and production requirements.
- Monitor employee productivity and attendance.
- Identify training requirements for workers and supervisors.
- Develop skilled operators and supervisors through on-the-job training.
- Manage overtime requirements effectively.

D. Quality Control
- Ensure products are manufactured according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to reduce production defects.
- Monitor rework, rejection and rectification.
- Identify the root cause of recurring quality problems.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure proper inspection at critical stages of production.

E. Material & Wastage Control
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of materials.
- Monitor consumption of plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, adhesives, paints and other materials.




- Control material wastage and optimize material utilization.
- Monitor scrap generation and ensure maximum possible reuse.
- Identify abnormal material consumption and take corrective action.

F. Machine & Equipment Management
- Ensure proper utilization of CNC machines, panel saws, edge-banding machines, drilling machines, presses and other equipment.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance.
- Minimize machine breakdown and production downtime.
- Ensure operators follow proper machine operating procedures.
- Ensure safety requirements are followed while operating machinery.

G. Cost & Productivity Control
- Monitor production costs and productivity.
- Improve output per worker and machine.
- Reduce rework, rejection, overtime and material wastage.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Monitor production efficiency against established targets.

H. Coordination with Project & Site Teams
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers regarding project priorities.
- Understand site requirements, measurements and installation schedules.
- Ensure production is completed according to site delivery requirements.
- Resolve production-related technical issues affecting site execution.
- Support timely dispatch of completed materials to project sites.

I. Production Documentation & MIS
- Maintain daily production reports.
- Review production targets versus actual achievement.
- Monitor rejection, rework, wastage and productivity reports.
- Prepare weekly and monthly production MIS.
- Maintain records of manpower, machine utilization and production performance.
- Present production performance and improvement plans to management.

J. Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with factory safety procedures.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Identify unsafe working conditions and take corrective action.
- Ensure safe handling of machines, materials and chemicals.
- Report accidents and safety incidents to management immediately.

The Senior Production Manager may be evaluated on:

1. Required Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Additional qualification in Production Management or Operations Management will be an advantage.

1. Experience

- 8–12+ years of relevant experience in production/manufacturing.
- Experience in interior fit-outs, modular furniture, retail fixtures, furniture manufacturing or customized woodwork preferred.
- Experience managing a medium/large production team is desirable.
- Solid experience in project-based and customized production environments.

1. Technical Skills

- Good knowledge of furniture and interior manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of plywood, MDF, particle board, laminates, veneers and hardware.
- Knowledge of CNC, cutting, edge-banding, drilling, assembly and finishing processes.
- Understanding of production planning and scheduling.
- Knowledge of BOM, drawings and material specifications.
- Knowledge of quality control and process improvement.
- Good understanding of production costing and material consumption.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and production MIS.
- ERP/MRP knowledge will be an advantage.

1. Overall Objective

To ensure that all interior, furniture and retail fixture production is completed on time, within the approved cost, with minimum wastage and rework, while maintaining the required quality, productivity and safety standards. Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
