Job Title: Production Manager – Knits & Woven

Job Summary

Responsible for planning, managing, and controlling the overall garment production operations for Knits and Woven products, ensuring timely production, optimum utilization of manpower and machinery, required quality standards, and achievement of production targets within approved costs.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production activities for Knits and Woven garment lines.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per buyer requirements, production plans, and shipment schedules.
- Monitor production processes from cutting to finishing and packing.
- Prepare and implement production plans based on capacity, order quantity, SMV, manpower, machinery, and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Planning, IE, Quality, Cutting, Finishing, and Stores teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Monitor line efficiency, productivity, DHU, rejection, rework, absenteeism, and production output.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and production capacity.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective actions to minimize downtime and delays.
- Ensure proper line balancing and manpower allocation according to product and operation requirements.
- Monitor machine breakdowns and maintenance coordination to minimize production loss.




- Work closely with the IE team to improve line efficiency, productivity, SMV performance, and capacity utilization.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, approved samples, specifications, and buyer requirements.
- Monitor production wastage and implement measures to reduce fabric, trims, and process losses.
- Conduct regular production review meetings and provide MIS and production reports to management.
- Ensure proper implementation of SOPs, work instructions, safety standards, and company policies.
- Develop and motivate production teams, supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
- Identify training requirements and improve workforce productivity.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team to minimize defects and improve first-pass quality.
- Ensure production is completed within the planned T&A; and shipment timelines.
- Handle production challenges related to different fabric types, styles, constructions, and garment categories in both knits and woven.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, quality, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Knits and Woven garment manufacturing processes.
- Good understanding of cutting, sewing, finishing, pressing, packing,



and production control.
- Solid knowledge of line balancing, capacity planning, productivity, and efficiency improvement.
- Good understanding of SMV, SAM, manpower planning, production targets, and capacity utilization.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to manage multiple production lines and meet tight shipment deadlines.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of production MIS and Excel.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement will be an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively under production pressure and changing priorities.

Educational Qualification Graduate / Diploma in Garment Technology, Apparel Production, Textile Technology, or a related field.

Experience: Preferably 8–15+ years of relevant experience in garment manufacturing, with strong exposure to both Knits and Woven production and experience managing multiple production lines/teams.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
