Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area, responsible for overseeing end-to-end production operations for leather goods and fashion accessories. This role includes planning and scheduling production, managing shop-floor activities, monitoring output against targets, and coordinating cutting, stitching, finishing, and packaging functions.

The Production

Manager will lead and guide production teams, ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance requirements, and maintain workplace safety and efficiency. Daily activities involve collaborating with design, sourcing, and quality assurance teams,



optimizing resource utilization, solving production bottlenecks, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The role also requires continuous improvement of processes to support on-time delivery, cost control, and scalability for both bulk and custom orders.

Qualifications

- Strong production planning, workflow management, and capacity planning skills, with experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience in leather goods, apparel, or accessories production processes, including cutting, stitching, finishing, and packaging.
- Proficiency in quality control methods, process standardization, and compliance with social and environmental standards.
- Leadership and team management skills, including training, performance monitoring, and cross-functional coordination.
- Ability to analyze production data, use basic ERP or manufacturing software, and prepare transparent reports and dashboards.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and time management.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field; relevant experience in export-oriented manufacturing is preferred.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, ethical labor practices, and sustainability-oriented manufacturing will be beneficial.
