Roles & Responsibilities
1. Batch Compounding & Floor Execution
- Supervise and execute end-to-end batch manufacturing for home-care liquids (floor cleaners, dishwash, multi-surface sprays, laundry liquids) following strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Manage raw material dispensing, sequence of addition, agitation speeds, and temperature controls to prevent excessive aeration, foaming, or phase separation during mixing.
- Implement strict CIP (Clean-in-Place) and sanitization protocols across mixing vessels, storage tanks, transfer pumps, and filling lines to prevent cross-contamination and microbial growth (especially critical in non-bleach, eco-friendly systems).
2. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) & Compliance
- Perform and log routine in-process checks on every batch before packaging clearance:
- pH levels, specific gravity, and active matter (surfactant concentration).
- Viscosity profiles (spindle viscometer) and organoleptic parameters (odor, color clarity, phase stability).
- Review batch manufacturing records (BMR) and batch packaging records (BPR) to ensure total traceability from raw material lot numbers to finished carton barcodes.
- Coordinate with internal or external NABL-accredited analytical labs for micro-challenge testing, active bio-enzyme integrity, and stability retention samples.
3. Packaging & Line Operations
- Oversee liquid filling, induction sealing, capping, trigger-spray assembly, batch coding (MRP, Mfg/Exp date, batch number), and labeling lines.
- Monitor fill volume accuracy to eliminate overfill losses and prevent underfills, while enforcing torque limits on caps to prevent leakage in transit.
- Troubleshoot mechanical downtime and line jams on semi-automatic or automatic filling and capping machinery.
4. Inventory & Waste Optimization
- Track daily yield losses during compounding, filtration, and filling; maintain material reconciliation within startup targets (e.g.,
compounding yield >98.5%).
- Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely staging of raw botanical actives, surfactants, enzymes, essential oil blends, and packaging materials (bottles, closures, cartons).
- Enforce 5S, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and effluent/grey-water compliance standards on the shop floor.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Professional Experience
- Experience Range: 0 to 2 years of hands-on floor experience in manufacturing/production within FMCG liquid detergents, home care, personal care / cosmetics, or liquid pharmaceuticals.
- Demonstrated exposure to batch blending of aqueous solutions, surfactant dilutions, viscous liquids, or emulsion handling.
- Direct working knowledge of semi-automatic or fully automatic piston/gear-pump filling machines, induction cap sealers, and continuous inkjet (CIJ) coding printers.
Technical & Operational Skills
- Formulation Fluency: Solid grasp of surfactant behavior (non-ionic, amphoteric, alkyl polyglucosides), biological enzymes, chelating agents, and botanical extracts.
- Documentation & GMP: Hands-on experience preparing and auditing Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Batch Packaging Records (BPR), and line clearance checklists.
- Basic Lab Skills: Calibration and routine handling of benchtop pH meters, digital refractometers, and viscometers.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with Legal Metrology packaging rules (weights & volumes), basic safety protocols for raw material handling, and ISO 9001/GMP guidelines.
Key Behavioral Competencies
- Startup Agility: Adaptable to wearing multiple hatsbalancing floor compounding supervision with raw material staging and line troubleshooting.
- Detail-Oriented: Zero compromise on micro-hygiene and batch-to-batch consistency.
- Team Leadership: Capable of communicating clearly, training, and managing shop-floor operators and contract packing labor.
