Production Engineer – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Designation: Production Engineer

Location: Partapur ,Meerut

Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication, engineering manufacturing, or a similar production environment.

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering from a recognized institute.

Job Purpose To plan, supervise, and control day-to-day sheet metal fabrication production activities while ensuring production targets, quality standards, delivery schedules, productivity, and safety requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute daily production activities as per production schedules and customer requirements.
- Supervise fabrication processes such as cutting, shearing, bending, punching, welding, grinding, assembly, and finishing.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned time, manpower, and material requirements.
- Monitor production processes and identify bottlenecks, delays, rejection, and productivity issues.
- Coordinate with departments for smooth production flow.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
- Ensure correct material, tools, machines, and consumables are available for production.
- Monitor machine utilization, manpower productivity, material consumption, and production efficiency.
- Ensure fabricated components are produced according to specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to control rejection, rework,



and process-related defects.
- Identify root causes of production problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain production records, daily production reports, rejection/rework reports, and other required documentation.
- Ensure proper handling and traceability of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Coordinate with maintenance for timely resolution of machine breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Implement process improvements to improve productivity, reduce wastage, rework, and production cost.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping/5S on the shop floor.
- Train and guide operators and helpers regarding production processes, work methods, and safety practices.
- Monitor adherence to production procedures, SOPs, and company policies.
- Support new product development, process trials, and improvement activities as required.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and understand 2D engineering/fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of bending, welding, cutting, punching, shearing, and assembly processes.
- Basic understanding of GD&T;, dimensions, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Good knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.
- Problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Valuable coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage production manpower and meet deadlines.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
