About the Business:

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management ICs, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCUs), and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand across automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications, and artificial intelligence markets.

Responsibilities:

RFQ Review & Technical Assessment

- Review RFQs, drawings, specifications, BOMs, data packages, and customer standards to identify gaps and develop structured clarification lists.
- Evaluate high-speed and mixed-signal design requirements, manufacturability considerations, technical risks, and compliance expectations.

High-Speed & Mixed-Signal Design Assurance

- Own design assurance activities for high-speed and mixed-signal products, ensuring design robustness, manufacturability, and performance compliance.
- Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) assessments to validate design performance against customer and industry requirements.
- Review impedance control strategies, return-path design, PCB stack-up architectures, and routing methodologies.

Electrical Analysis & Validation

- Perform IBIS, S-Parameter, and TDR analysis to evaluate signal behavior, transmission line performance, and system integrity.
- Assess Power Distribution Network (PDN) design, decoupling strategies, power delivery effectiveness, and grounding schemes.
- Review analogue front-end architectures, noise management techniques, and mixed-signal integration challenges.

EMI/EMC & Reliability Assessment

- Lead EMI/EMC pre-compliance reviews and identify design improvements to support regulatory certification and product reliability.




- Evaluate potential electrical risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful product qualification and manufacturing readiness.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations supporting technical feasibility and proposal decisions.

Solution Development & Costing Support

- Define workstream solutions, basis of estimate, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies, risks, and mitigation actions.
- Develop resource loading plans, tooling requirements, NRE estimates, CapEx assessments, lead-times, and implementation milestones.
- Prepare technical calculations, compliance matrices, proposal narratives, costing models, and management approval documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer teams to ensure executable and cost-effective solutions.
- Challenge unsupported assumptions and reconcile inconsistencies across engineering, process, test, quality, automation, and supply chain workstreams.

Supplier & Customer Engagement

- Support supplier technical evaluations, quotation reviews, and make-versus-buy analyses.
- Participate in customer clarification meetings, solution reviews, Red Team reviews, and Gold Team reviews to ensure proposal readiness and timely action closure.

NPI & Volume Manufacturing Readiness

- Support design transfer into NPI and volume manufacturing through structured validation and risk mitigation activities.
- Define acceptance criteria, validation plans, and key deliverables required for successful production launch and execution.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

- Maintain controlled templates, lessons learned, engineering databases, and reusable estimation data for future bids and programs.
- Ensure compliance with Tata Electronics information security, confidentiality, quality, and document control requirements.

Essential Attributes:

1.



Solid expertise in high-speed digital and mixed-signal design assurance.
2. Experience in signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), impedance control, and return-path analysis.
3. Proficiency in IBIS modeling, S-Parameter analysis, TDR measurements, and transmission line behavior assessment.
4. Strong understanding of Power Distribution Networks (PDN), decoupling techniques, grounding strategies, and power delivery optimization.
5. Experience evaluating analogue front-end circuits, mixed-signal architectures, and noise management techniques.
6. Knowledge of EMI/EMC design practices, pre-compliance testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
7. Strong understanding of DFM/DFx principles, technical risk analysis, validation planning, and product design assurance.
8. Experience in product lifecycle management, engineering change control, configuration management, and release governance.
9. Proven experience supporting customer RFQs, technical proposals, NPI programs, or manufacturing industrialization projects within EMS or complex product environments.
10. Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
11. Ability to identify technical risks, develop validation plans, and provide evidence-based engineering recommendations.
12. Ability to work effectively with global customers and suppliers across multiple time zones and travel as required.

Qualifications:

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or another discipline relevant to the role.
- Postgraduate specialization in Analog Design, Signal Integrity, Electronics Engineering, High-Speed System Design, Product Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Desired Experience Level:

- 8-12 years of experience in Analog Design Engineering, Mixed-Signal Product Engineering, Signal Integrity Engineering, High-Speed Electronics Design, NPI, Manufacturing Industrialization, or related engineering functions within EMS, Electronics Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Telecommunications, Data Communication, or other complex product manufacturing environments.
