ABOUT THE ROLE

We are an Australian retail and e-commerce business based in Melbourne, looking for an experienced Procurement & Margin Manager to take ownership of purchasing,

inventory planning, supplier management, pricing and margin improvement.

This is a remote, high-ownership role. You will work remotely with our Australian and offshore teams, but the function is expected to be largely self-managed.

We are looking for someone proactive who can analyse the business, identify what needs attention, take action and report measurable results without requiring constant direction from management.

This is NOT a data-entry or basic purchase-order processing role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Inventory & Replenishment

Monitor stock levels, sales movement and stock cover. Identify potential stockouts, overstock and slow-moving products, and ensure appropriate products are reordered at the right time.
- Purchasing

Plan and place purchase orders based on inventory requirements, sales trends, supplier lead times, MOQs and commercial terms.
- Pricing & Margin Management — Core Responsibility

Regularly review product costs, selling prices and gross margins. Identify low-margin products/categories and take appropriate pricing or purchasing action. Continuously look for practical ways to improve and protect margins.
- Supplier Management & Negotiation

Manage existing suppliers and negotiate better pricing, discounts, rebates, terms and other commercial opportunities.
- New Suppliers & Products

Proactively identify new suppliers, alternative sources and new products that can improve the range, buying costs and profitability.
- Analytics & Reporting

Analyse sales, stock, purchasing, pricing and margin data. Produce transparent management reporting showing issues identified,



actions taken, results achieved and opportunities ahead.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 4+ years' experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Commercial Buying or Category

Management.
- Retail, FMCG, Grocery, Food, Wholesale or Distribution experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of pricing, gross margin and commercial decision-making.
- Strong supplier sourcing and negotiation skills.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets and analytical skills.
- Ability to work confidently with sales, inventory, cost and margin data.
- Excellent written and spoken English — you will communicate with Australian

suppliers and management.
- Experience with ERP / inventory / purchasing systems is advantageous.
- Highly proactive, organised and comfortable making decisions independently.
- Must be comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce, Business,

Finance, Operations or a related field preferred.

MBA / PGDM / postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Operations or Business will be highly regarded.

HOW THIS ROLE WORKS

Our existing team handles much of the routine product and inventory data entry,

so your primary responsibility is not entering data.

You will be expected to USE the available product, sales, inventory, supplier and cost data to make better commercial decisions.

This is a performance-driven role with significant independence and ownership.

We are looking for someone who can effectively run the procurement and margin function, keep management informed through reliable reporting, and continuously drive improvements in stock availability, purchasing and profitability.
