ROLE PURPOSE

Lead end-to-end procurement for the Pune biotech manufacturing facility across direct materials, indirect categories, MRO, services and site CAPEX. The role will lead and develop the procurement team, ensure supply continuity and compliance, strengthen supplier performance, and deliver sustainable value through disciplined sourcing and cross-functional business partnership.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Lead, coach and develop the site procurement team; establish transparent priorities, ownership, service standards and performance measures.
- Own sourcing and supply assurance for direct materials, process consumables, packaging and other critical GMP requirements.
- Manage indirect procurement covering MRO, engineering and facility services, utilities, laboratory requirements, AMCs and operating services.
- Plan and execute CAPEX procurement for process equipment, utilities, automation, cleanrooms, laboratory systems and infrastructure projects.
- Lead RFQ/RFP processes, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, contracting, supplier selection and timely purchase-order execution.




- Develop category and supplier strategies, alternate sources, localisation opportunities and business-continuity plans for critical requirements.
- Drive supplier qualification support, performance reviews, corrective actions, contract compliance and risk mitigation in partnership with Quality.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Projects, Finance and Corporate Procurement to align demand, budgets and timelines.
- Deliver cost optimisation and cost avoidance using total-cost-of-ownership analysis without compromising quality, service, compliance or continuity.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policy, delegation of authority, ethical sourcing, audit-ready documentation, EHS expectations and applicable GMP controls.
- Use SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM, Ariba and procurement analytics to improve visibility, cycle time, compliance and decision quality.
- Prioritise candidates who combine regulated manufacturing procurement, team leadership and broad portfolio ownership.
