Position: Procurement / Sourcing Engineer

Location: Vadodara, India

Key Requirements:

- Manage procurement and sourcing of mechanical equipment, spare parts, industrial consumables, services, and plant/project requirements.
- Coordinate with Plant, Engineering, Production, Projects, Stores, and other departments for technical specifications, quantities, priorities, and delivery requirements.
- Float RFQs, obtain competitive quotations, and prepare technical and commercial comparison statements.
- Evaluate quotations based on technical compliance, price, quality, delivery, payment terms, warranty, freight, and total landed cost.
- Identify and develop reliable vendors and alternate suppliers across India, China, Tanzania, and other international markets.
- Conduct price and commercial negotiations and identify opportunities for cost reduction, alternate sourcing, and localization.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders and ensure timely delivery through continuous vendor follow-up.
- Monitor pending PRs, enquiries, POs, and critical deliveries and take corrective action on delays.
- Conduct market research to monitor material prices, supplier capabilities, new products, technologies,



and alternative sourcing opportunities.
- Maintain procurement documentation including RFQs, quotations, comparison statements, negotiation records, POs, contracts, and delivery records.
- Coordinate with Stores, Finance, Logistics, Transporters, and user departments for smooth completion of the procurement cycle.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval procedures, budgets, and authorization limits.

Desired Candidate:

- 4-7 years of experience in Procurement / Sourcing, preferably in Cement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Mining, Power, or Steel industries.
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, spare parts, vendor development, sourcing, and negotiation.
- Exposure to international sourcing, especially India/China; Africa/Tanzania experience is an added advantage.
- Valuable working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/procurement systems.
- Strong commercial, analytical, communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
- Willing to relocate/travel between India and Tanzania as required.
