Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Procurement Executive to join our Tocopherol Manufacturing Unit in Hyderabad. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management of raw materials, chemicals, and equipment essential to our tocopherol production operations. This is a critical position that directly impacts production efficiency, cost management, and supply chain reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, intermediate chemicals, and production equipment

Develop and maintain a network of reliable vendors specializing in oil technologies and tocopherol-related materials

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities

Prepare and analyze Request for Quotations (RFQs) and negotiate contracts with suppliers

Track and analyze price trends for key materials and commodities

Supplier Management

Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers

Conduct regular supplier audits and performance evaluations

Address supplier-related issues, including quality concerns and delivery delays

Monitor supplier compliance with specifications, delivery schedules, and regulatory requirements

Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure supplier materials meet manufacturing standards

Inventory & Order Management

Coordinate with Production and Planning teams to forecast material requirements

Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels

Monitor stock levels and implement effective inventory management practices





Track shipments and ensure timely receipt of materials

Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation

Cost Management

Optimize procurement spend through strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations

Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality

Prepare procurement budgets and reports for management review

Compare supplier quotes and prepare cost-benefit analysis

Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements

Maintain proper documentation for all supplier agreements and contracts

Handle import/export documentation for raw materials and specialized chemicals

Keep abreast of industry regulations, safety standards, and GST/customs compliance

Coordinate with regulatory and compliance teams as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Finance departments

Communicate effectively regarding material availability, pricing, and delivery timelines

Support production planning and scheduling initiatives

Participate in process improvement initiatives

Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualifications

Education

Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent





OR Graduate degree with specialization in Oil Technologies / Petroleum Science

Experience

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials management

Preferably 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing procurement

Demonstrated experience sourcing for chemical/oil-based manufacturing units is highly valued

Technical Knowledge

Understanding of tocopherol production processes or similar specialty chemical manufacturing

Familiarity with oil refining, hydrogenation, or extraction technologies

Knowledge of chemical sourcing, quality specifications, and handling requirements

Basic understanding of import/export procedures and customs regulations

Skills & Competencies

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience with procurement software/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

Attention to detail and solid organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Customer/vendor relationship management capabilities

Desired Qualifications

Experience with supplier quality management systems (IATF, ISO 9001, etc.)

Knowledge of food-grade or pharmaceutical-grade material sourcing

Experience with sustainability and green procurement initiatives

Familiarity with Indian manufacturing regulations and Hyderabad-based supplier networks

Exposure to contract management and risk assessment

Background in inventory optimization or demand planning
