Role & responsibilities

- Detail Engineering Deliverables: Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping &
- Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), Process Data Sheets (PDS), and Utility Flow Diagrams (UFDs).

- Mass &

- Energy Balance:

Prepare steady-state and dynamic mass and energy balances using simulation software and first-principle engineering calculations.

- Hydraulics &

- Sizing:

Perform line sizing, hydraulic network calculations, two-phase flow analysis, control valve sizing, and pressure drop computations.

- Equipment Sizing &

- Specifications:

Sizing of static and rotating equipment (separators, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, atmospheric tanks, and pressure vessels) and create technical requisition sheets.

- Balance of Plant (BOP) &

- Utilities:

Design BOP and auxiliary systems, including cooling water networks, plant and instrument air, steam and condensate systems, chilled water, nitrogen purge, and effluent treatment.

- Safety &

- Overpressure Protection:

Size Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs), rupture discs, blowdown systems, and flare header networks in compliance with API 520/521 standards.

- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate process requirements with Piping, Mechanical, Instrumentation &

- Control, and Civil/Structural disciplines to resolve layout and interface issues.





- Safety &

- Design Reviews:

Participate actively in HAZOP, SIL, HAZID, constructability, and 3D model reviews; track and close process-related action items.

- Vendor Document Review: Review vendor technical bids, process guarantees, calculation sheets, and drawings for compliance with project design criteria.

Preferred candidate profile

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.

- Experience: Minimum 5 years of core experience in an EPC, EPCM, or detailed engineering consultancy workplace.

- Software Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, or CHEMCAD) and hydraulic calculation tools (AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, or PipeFlo).

- Codes &
- Standards:

Strong working knowledge of relevant international standards (API (phone hidden), ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, TEMA, NFPA, and OSHA standards).

Communication &

- Analytical Skills: Strong technical writing, cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and presentation abilities.

- Prior experience on brownfield revamp or debottlenecking projects alongside greenfield designs.

- Familiarity with Smart Plant P&ID; (SPPID) or AVEVA Diagrams.
